Cooperdreams,
Very Nice. That was my second color of choice. Enjoy Motoring......

Noddy, I liked the interior in blue also. I think it adds a touch of class. wishing you a fast delivery.

Everyone else awaiting thier vehicle. I ordered the MCSa and I cannot believe how easy it is to let the speed get away from you. It's nearly impossible to stay under 40, These coopers want to go !!!!!! Please post photos of your Cooper as you get them --- Mark

Hey fellow West-Coasters (feels more & more like WRONG coasters )

Pacific Breeze didn't make it thru the canal today ...
Checking WWL's site didn't make my day: scheduled ETA in Hueneme... 2/18 !! (that seems quite accurate as it takes ~8 days to sail from Panama)

Prolly another 2 full weeks... By that time oldchicago, Mccsab will have gone thru the break in already ! GOOD FOR THEM (and YES I am jealous) !!

Chris.

Don't be too sad, I'm on the right coast and still have at least another week to 10 days to wait. Otello is touching down in Brunswick, GA tomorrow, then ~5 biz days at VDC, then truck to ATL, then dealer prep/detail, so it'll be a while.

Fishbert... keep in mind vesseltracker is _2_hours_late_ !!! By the time it shows PB crossing the first locks, it will already be well advanced on the lake.

If I spot it on the Pacific side locks, I'll capture a pic

Chris.

Well aware.

Vesseltracker showed it (and still does show it) as being on the far side of the Gatun locks... I believe it takes more than two hours for a ship to pass through the canal (the last set of locks has the good camera, anyway)... and I've been "calibrating" the vesseltracker lag by the ships passing through the Miraflores locks (where I can actually some of the names), and the Pacific Breeze is still outside that window.

The ship is pretty far down on the priority list, but it having moved from a far away spot in the Caribbean up to Limon Bay is encouraging. Gatun hasn't been seeing a lot of action so far this evening, though.

Thanks everyone for the compliments, I hope you all get your MINI's soon, but it is well worth the wait!

This is very true, despite the ginormous speedometer it is very hard to keep track of speed, my JCW is just dying to get the break in period over. My MA said that 400 miles is good enough, I've got 80 to go then I'll see what it's really got.

With the nav, isn't there some feature where it will beep at you if you reach a certain pre-set speed? I have a feeling I'll be using that quite a bit.

Also, an update on the Pacific Breeze...
I woke up a bit ago and vesseltracker shows the ship moored right at the head of the Gatun locks. It may have gone through already, but it also may not have as Gatun seems to be operating both lanes in the opposite direction at the moment.

I hope I am able to catch it through Miraflores today at work. Right now, though, I must get ready and go play in the snow... in Tucson.

Quick side note for those on the Pacific Blues, er I mean Pacific Breeze.

Based on my last experience (week 36, 2008), once the ship passed through the Panama Canal, it took 8 days to reach the VCD at PH. So at this rate, it does look like the 18th.

My mini was one of the first off the boat and onto a truck. The car was at East Bay Mini two days after the ship docked.

It's getting closer. Time to make room in the garage, purchase those detailing supplies and order those mods.

Yes, there is a feature to do that, but I'm pretty sure I would be hearing that beeping a lot, and I would get very tired of it, very quickly.

Picked up my Oxy Blue last night and something strange is happening...It was about a 100 mile drive home and in the last 5 miles smoke appeared to be coming out of the hood and there was a distinct burning smell. Then, once it was parked in the driveway a clear fluid leaked from the front of the car near the bumper.

Anyone else experience this? I have a call into the service dept right now. Needless to say my husband is not too thrilled about this. I absolutely love the car and know that if something is wrong it will be covered under warranty. But, I suppose he is right that something like this shouldn't happen the first night you bring it home.

I suspect it's cosmoline.

They spray this all over the vehicles before shipping and in some cases it gets under the hood. It's harmless but it could stain if not wiped off soon after it appears.

Thank you for the quick reply! I had read about that last night and suspected that was the smell. Does it heat up and drip too?

It's like a wax, but an annoying one that can stain your bumpers and the black trim above the wheels. It melts when it gets hot. You might even see some residue of it under the hood. Keep an eye on it and wipe it off if you see it.

Oh okay, I am feeling much better now. Since it is so common, I think the dealer should at least make mention of it during delivery.

Thank you for your help!

damn it! I miss it every time!

though, I think I see it off in the distance on the Miraflores hi-res... looks like it's getting into position for the Pedro Miguel locks.

I'm tempted to run off and grab some lunch before it gets closer. It should be ok, right? I can't miss it three times, can I?

That's Pedro Miguel, actually... they've got the Miraflores lo-res webcam focused off in the distance.

I know the wait on the west coast is excrutiating, but that's pretty cool to see your ship! I tried to find mine when it made to Charleston, but didn't have any luck.

'Tis way cool - yes you can see it coming up to the Miraflores with the hi-res cam, although it's a bit small in distance (even on my 24").

I'll keep snapping screenshots through lunch...

MINI's first drag race... will the Pacific Breeze beat the obviously inferior red boat to Miraflores?
