The status has been changed to 'in transit' but his VIN # doesn't show up as being on a WW ship, so I'm guessing that it is on the K-Line Southern Highway which is scheduled to dock in Charleston on the 26th

So my MINI is on the Tristan and set to dock in CA on 12/01. I went and talked to my bank about financing today and got the okay. All I have to do is sign on the dotted line, but I figured I'd see what my dealership would come up with as far as a better interest rate. My MA refuses to acknowledge that my ship is on the boat, that it was produced on 11/10 (uh, it was the 9th) and it won't be in for at least 2 1/2 months. So at that time I can see about financing. He won't listen to me. I am looking at the WW web site and see my baby is on it. I know he is looking at the MINI web site (or listening to the phone menu) and they are both way behind. My car is on the ship. Well I guess they won't be getting my financing. The last thing he said was "I'll call you in a couple months when your car comes in". I replied "or I'll call you first". He just laughed.

Dang! The Tristan changed their scheduled arrival from 11/30 to 12/1.... hmmm....

Has anyone got good financing rates recently? And where did you get it from? I'm thinking about applying the PenFed.... 4.75% for 72 months... sounds good.

How do you know it is on the ship? Mine was produced 11/8, but both - online and phone systems say it is awaiting transport in the port. Cargo tracking does not recognize my VIN#.

And why does your MA think 2 months? Isn't Falstaff leaving next Monday?

I'm pretty sure I'm in week 45 >.> My Mini is being built right now and will be done on 11/17! YAY!

Although I have a question for y'all. I ordered a regular Mini hardback, Oxygen Blue. On the order detail page it says "4 door sedan." Isn't it a 2 door? Did I miss a door? Got a secret compartment somewhere for smuggling things? haha.

Mine says it's 4 door sedan as well. Although it is neither sedan nor four door My friend's mini displayed the same thing, but he received just a mini, so I guess that's some sort of a feature at their website.

Hi Accel,
The reason I know my MINI was on the Tristan was by looking on the web site: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/
I clicked on Auto Cargo, put in my VIN and all my info came up. So I know it is on that ship and it left on 11/10. Sure enough, when I checked the MINI web site this morning it had been updated to being "enroute". The web site tends to be waaaaay behind, and so was the automated phone system. I would think if you are located in CA, and your car was finished on the 8th then it would be on the same boat as mine? I know if you call ASK MINI and talk to a live person they can at least tell you if, and when, it made it down to the dock. That would give you a better idea what boat it was on. Please let me know what you find out. I'm curious and hopeful for you

Accel,
Oh, I forgot to answer your question as to why my MA thinks it will take 2 months to get my car? I don't have an answer. I think they want to cover their butts in case something happens and there is a delay, at least that's what the ASK MINI person thought.

I just talked to my MA today. He said it would take a couple of days after the ship reaches the port on 12/1. I'm guessing I should have the car on the first week of December I don't think it's gonna take 2 months!

And I got the loan from PenFed today... it was a pretty easy process

If that's the case, then I'm glad for you

My MA estimated my car for January, but that was at the time of purchase, so I guess things have changed since that, so I hope Flastaff will take my (actually, my wife's ) mini and we'll pick it up in the mid of Dec.

You are in week 47. Week 45 ended with a production date of 11/09, but hello and welcome anyway.
4 doors? Maybe the counted the hatch as #3 and do you have a sunroof? That could be #4.

Yes, I think my MA does't know what is going on. I know way more then him. That is really awesome that you will be getting your baby so soon. Who knows, maybe our babies are bunk mates.

If yours was assembled on 11/8, even if it didn't get on the Tristan, you should be able to track it on the WW cargo site. Mine was assembled on 11/7 and the WW cargo site had an entry on the same day saying that the status was "BOOKED". I included a screenshot on the other post

I'd say double check your VIN. Your car might have made the Tristan but you didn't know because either your dealer or the WW cargo site made a mistake on the VIN.

WW site shows that my clubby was booked 11/10, but this information appeared only today.
For some reason sailwx.info does not show a correct position of the ship (last position from June,12)

Thanks, Princess

Cargo tracking is eventually showing mine booked at the Falstaff as of today. Booked Oct 1st (?) 2008, received Nov 11 2008. So one extra week versus yours. I think I can get over it

And congratulations to you.

The Tristan's last position was over by Japan as of September, no updates, then all the sudden it was off the coast of England.

Guess they know which obsessive stalker types they need to update for

My car was a Week 45 build and officially started production on 11/7, but as of yesterday 11/14 it was in the paint shop with estimated completion to be 11/15 so I guess it slipped a little bit....into Week 46 .

I have the VIN but the car hasn't been booked on a ship yet, at least not on WW.

Mine is loaded at FALSTAFF as well. Whew. But now there will pretty much be no significant news and\or updates until the ship arrives. Pretty tough times

U-2, how do you know the ship is on its way already?
