I just called 866 ASKMINI - He said no VIN yet, but looks like my car may be bumped up to WEEK 31 - prodution may start b/t July 28 - Aug 2... but he is guessing...

 

As the OP I'll claim prerogative to question this...

Why not just have this post one time and update that? PM the info to whoever created the first post and let them keep it updated? I'll bet I'm not the only one who doesn't want to see this post over and over again. It really seems to just add more noise to this thread than appears worthwhile. Just a thought...

 

I was thinking more of the born on date. If the born on date is when it is finished, then they need to start earlier than week 32. I suppose it could be in labor from the 4th till it's finished!

I don't know where that club is, but when you find it let me know, I am a year and half younger than you.

OK, I'll take Aug 4 as the conception date. That's the fun part of bearing children anyway.

 

Well, I've been lurking for awhile, but I'm having a hard time waiting for my MCS. So I am part of the Week 32 support club and I'm also the second person from Omaha. Maybe this thread can get me through. I do have one question - what is ASKMINI? What information can I get from there?

what up! I'm in week 32 as well. Talked to ask mini today and they mentioned it looks like mine could be bumped to week 31 as well. We'll know for sure next week. Till then, I'm on the same boat. Either way, we can't wait! This is our second MINI and we are very excited!

What's this about a week 32 lemon tendency because of factory workers vacations and no quality control? UGH! I hope not. I just traded a LEMON of a BMW 330xi in for this car. I really didn't want to trade lemon for lemon.

Thanks. I needed that. I was looking on Consumer Reports the other day and there are only 4 other cars on the market with a higher owner approval rating than the Mini Coopers. That made me feel very good about this purchase.

I notice a lot of you already have cool graphics in your sigs, how did you do that? Is there a generator, or is everyone just using photoshop? And so many of you already have names picked out....I don't even know if mine's going to be a boy or a girl! I feel like such a slacker!

I too am nameless. I need to drive him/her first to see what feels right. As for the sigs, I used the sig-o-matic in the main menu (because I'm a slacker too).

 

Mine does not have a name yet either. I want to meet him/her first.

 

Hey guys, it would appear that I (AvidMINI of Sacramento, CA) am already in production! I called the Ask MINI people the other day and they confirmed that I'm scheduled for production for the current week (Week 30). In fact, they said that I was given a #152 status, which implies the car is in the paint process. Next stop, assembly. I'm stoked! Can't wait to get this puppy, but it's been great hanging out with my future MINI-mates. Now I'm over with the other expectant moms & dads in the "Week 30 Support Group."

May your wait be short and your rides not long from our shores!

Ahhhh...if only there were more AB orders out there! My dealer told me that if you choose a popular color, your odds of getting bumped into an earlier production week was good. Looks like Chili Red wins! Congrats!!! That was my second color choice (but having had 3 red cars previously and a lead foot to go with them, not a good combination for me).
