Red is a great color, unfortunately in the past it used to fade due to the natural pigment in red. I've had a red car and loved it, but it also suffered from the speeding ticket syndrome. It was a 1968 Volvo P1800S, not very quick, but cruised well at 70, not so good when the speed limit was 55. I don't know if the modern reds are any better, but since I drive my cars for decades didn't want to risk it.

I'm right here with you. Week 32, although it took a month of waiting, and several requests to my dealer in Ca. to get that info . (I ended up threatening to cancel my order, and spoke to a manager who finally gave me the news). I did call other dealers in my area, and could have changed with only a dely of one week! Wish I had known to check at the beginging. I still get the message "my production is scheduled with no confirmed date" from 1-800-ask-mini, how about the rest of you?

Yes, it is. I lived there for 12 years. Miss it a LOT. Although to be honest, the MCS wouldn't be a year-round car for that area. LOL

I did just call 1-866-ASK-MINI on Friday and they gave me a vin number and confirmed my production week. It still hasn't showed up in the OL on the miniusa site though. I don't think the site is updated very often. I'm showing as "on order" through the site.

Aah! The land of the midnight sun. I am originally from Finland myself. Alaska must be wonderful this time of year 24 hour MINI driving, but yes, probably better to store the MINI in the winter months - probably 9 months out of the year if it anything like Finland. I bet Alaska is beautiful even in winter, but you can always go visit with the MINI in the summer!

Yeah, but you Finns know how to take a car like a MINI, outfit it for rally, and go off to motor over the yumps in winter.

Yeah...that would be a great road trip in the MCS. The sun doesn't go down until around 1 am and it's back up at about 4 am. It never really gets too dark at night in July and it really is beautiful year round. I'm sure my MINI and me will see it again.
ROAD TRIP!!!

ASKMINI

When you call 866-ASK-MINI don't listen to the automated message, try to speak w/ a live person, they can give you more info re: VIN and production week than the automated message.

You mean like this, but in winter. Timo Mäkinen at Jyväskylä 1967, photo Helsingin Sanomat:

I believe he won the race and came in third in this stage.

ASKMINI is still telling us Week 32, so that's a good thing! We saw an LB MCS at the Farmer's market this morning and said hello. It is his third and he has enjoyed everyone of them. This is our first, but we're beginning to see what all the excitement is about...

My wife and I loved watching WRC until Speed Channel stopped showing the races, and the Finnish Rally was our favorite. The Yumps!!! Nicky Grist was great as a color commentator.

Might add chrome driving lamps

My wife and I went over to the MINI dealer today. She finally decided I did the right thing getting a Red/White JCW instead of a Red/Black (she was upset before that I changed to white). Now she's real happy about it & the idea of doing the white bonnet/boot sport stripe and the red top sport stripe.

While there we saw on the of the older Monte Carlo Rally limited edition MCS with the driving lights. She now wants me to get those (I had been thinking about it). Now I have to decide between chrome or black. Since the car is Red/White and has chrome accents I'm leaning toward chrome lamps. Don't they have white covers?

From I have been told OL will be at least 2 days behind anything ASKMINI tells us.

Wow, that's funny. Here's one of me in one of my insane moments driving home through an Alaska blizzard in my Z3.

Beautiful photo, it's just as much fun to have darkness in winter as light in summer. Miss those long nights. Lucky for us in Texas we don't have many blizzards just floods!

I am really getting excited for week 32!!! Does anyone know when we might see delivery. I know that everyone here lives in different parts of the country/world, but is late August early September out of the question?

I'm in the mid west and am consistently told mid-September.

Thanks Trip, hey I was wondering, does the JCW suspension fix any of the wheel gap that the factory cars have. I am thinking of getting springs down the road but I would like to have my warranty in tact.

Doing an aftermarket mod on a car only changes the warranty for the parts you mod. If you add an aftermarket suspension the rest of your car will still be covered.

I did not order the Sport Suspension on my JCW. I may or may not get the JCW Suspension or an aftermarket suspension later., but not before I've tracked the stock car. For the street I would not bother changing anything. The stock car is more than good enough for that.

I was told mid September. I was also told 4-6 weeks after production. So any way I look at it, it's September.
