Joining the family

After a few weeks of thinking it over, running the numbers, and searching for a good price in my area I finally placed my order yesterday at Irvine Mini for an MCSa.

Now the wait begins... hoping to get the VIN/production# soon so I can begin obsessively tracking production Being on the west coast, I suspect I won't see my car until September.

It's an agonizing wait! Your MA should email you the production number within a day or two. Then you can start obsessively checking the OL like the rest of us! Don't forget about calling ASKMINI either. They're more likely to have more up to date information than the OL.

My car might be scheduled for week 28 (though my call this week said that it wasn't yet scheduled), and the OL still says "On Order."

Oh, and for the first few days, the OL showed my production number as coming up for a CR MC, not the PW that I ordered. It just took a few days for my order to get into the system.

When I get my production# I assume I'll have access to the full build spec to make sure the dealer got everything right? I just want the piece of mind that my order is correct...

Yes, once your production number is in the system, when you log on to the OL, you can check your specs. That was the first thing I did!

Yeah, but don't freak if it is wrong the first time you check. If you were slipped into a dealer slot, it takes them a few days to update the car to your specs vs. the prior dealer speced car. That's what happened to me.

Thanks Horatio! Got my production number yesterday and sure enough the specs were definately not what I ordered. Guess I gotta wait a couple days. I'm just happy the order is in
