Week 25 anyone?
hehe, you and me both, and I've got a messed up shoulder. Laying on a pack of ice and just hitting F5 over and over.
I give up for the evening. So this is my traditional goodnight post. Caribbean Highway is hopefully docked by now...it's trusty crew getting some rest. Tomorrow by the time I post they will hopefully be hard at work getting our minis off and loaded to go to the VDC.
Yes, it's about 12:30 am now, and I see in Vessel Tracker
Status:WAITING
But it's here!! Early!
Off to bed for some zzzzz's.

As usual -- can't get in touch with my MA. Granted I haven't bugged him on his cell phone, but I left him a message at his desk yesterday afternoon and have received no return call.
I have to say that every MA from 3 dealerships I've talked to have been very slow in responding to calls or emails. One dealership never even contacted me after I sent them my build. The other took a week to respond to something, and then this one has been the best of the 3 but still slow. I think they are overwelmed by demand right now. I hope I don't fall through the cracks and have something left out or wrong on my order.
Is it just me, or do you agree that I shouldn't feel nervous about being on the same page with my MA when I'm spending 23K+?

Well my status via automated phone now says "in transit". Since I dont show up on the WW site it looks like i am on the K-Line ship "Sierra Nevada Highway" which left July 5th and arrives in Charleston July 17th. Im slowly getting there.
For the other 1 or 2 people still waiting, ol.miniusa.com still has me "awaiting transport". You need to call to get a more timely update. Good luck to everyone.

Call your Motoring Adviser. They can tell you what ship you are on and when it is scheduled to arrive in port. It takes the guesswork out of the ship. They can also give you an estimate date for delivery.
ASK MINI can't help you once you arrive in Southampton.

I fully agree with you - not only have we invested some serious cash, but a MINI is a different kind of ownership...we deserve better service!
The very best response I received was from Ben Williams, MA, MINI of Dallas. Another close second was Baron MINI of Kansas City. However, by then I had already placed my order and deposit in Nashville because of the delivery date (soon!). But Dallas has been duly noted for future reference!
I am 'pretty' happy with Nashville, but it seems that customer service between our orders and delivery should be improved here as it should be for most dealerships, although Nashville seems to be as good or better than many others.

It is very worth it to me to fly into another (close) state and drive home if I have great service from the dealer/MA. I will definitely consider that when placing my next order - when I finish the last leg of this grad degree. A one-way ticket is not much if you're flexible - often less than gas to get there , and the fun of a road trip in a new MINI just makes the whole purchase get off to a great adventure!
On another note, something I do really like -- and appreciate -- is that it seems that many of the discussions here are from you in the Southern states. Being able to talk about what's going on, ships missed, where's our Mini, auto loans and insurance, has made this entire MINI expereince very fun and memorable.
Now - if our MA's could just be more like all of you!
Hrmph. Couple more calls unanswered. I have a meeting in a few minutes, but afterwards I'll call again and leave a 2nd voice mail.
It's tough because I'm out of town. If I were in the same town I'd just drop by the dealership and probably complete the deal early. Right now I'm at the mercy of communciations, which have been lacking.

Maybe it's time to work your way up the ladder. I would think that the sales manager is always around.
From what I can tell, the threat of a less than "5" on a survey is a big deal. You might hint to the manager that you're thinking about becoming unhappy.

I called mine 3 times, she is always delivering a car the manager said he was sorry BUT might take up to 17 from GA VDC............UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I know they are swamped as Mini has been under the spotlight by the media the last few months. So anyway... all is good! He's also been incredibly flexible with me while I change my mind several times on options, so he doesn't have to worry about getting anything but 5's from me.

And I wasn't unhappy...just a tad frustrated.
I'm in transit finally!!!
I didn't see mine on the WW site so I must be on K-Line. I'll keep checking on that. Now the ever more painful wait to get you car is here, because you know it's on it's way.
