No specific start date yet... Just said my car will be started sometime after Sunday.. well, yes, that's what I knew already. ASK MINI dude estimated 7 to 8 weeks from then to get to me, which is *about* what I thought. Then again, I think my ASK MINI dude today was a wee bit less enthusiastic about those of us who check on their cars as others have been. Granted, this was only my second time talking to a person.. but the first guy was so nice and complimented me on my choices in my order..

But, doesn't hurt to call.. I'll wait a day or two before checking back. hehehhe I was strong and made it almost a week this time!

 

OH my...that's IT!!! I love the car Charlize is driving in The Italian Job, though I'm not getting Chilli Red. I should name my car either Charlize or her Character Name in the Italian Job, DUH!! I had thought about "Molly"...boy am I DUMB!!

 

Her name was Stella Bridger in the movie. (Instantly drove myself nuts that I couldn't remember, so thank you IMDB.)

 

Funny the Italian Job should come up. After a lot of thought,we just applied to the RMV for a vanity plate for our new MINI. We tried ITLNJB, but that was taken. We then applied for ITALJB, which is available.

Mini is able to make the car,ship it across the Atlantic and deliver it more than twice as fast as the RMV is able to make a vanity plate (3-4 months). Now, if the RMV could only start an "owners lounge" equivalent so we could track the progress of our vanity plate order........

 

Anyone call and get a date yet?

I'm stuck on the phones all day. I will not be able to call until Lunch Time.

 

I called at Lunch. The nice young lady said it is still in "On Order" status. She did say that by Friday there should be a Production Date attached. I'll wait and call back then.

I got Mini's field guide to motoring in the mail today

 

Me too!!! Cool little book!!! Made one change to the car and was told it squeezed in but that was it.... locked in at this point.

 

Just checked the owners lounge and my Mini is scheduled for production

 

No book in the mail yet...still no update from the Owners Lounge as of this morning. Maybe by Friday I will have a production date too...definitely going to call and speak to a person then.

 

I ordered on 2-18 and my MINI finally is scheduled for production as of today according to the intraweb. WOOT! I haven't called yet I'm trying to not get overly excited, if poossible!!

 

Drats!!! I don't have a Production Date yet??!!

 

Sigh.. Spoke with Jared. Jared says probably the later part of next week for my mini, but no assigned date yet... And that they may not know until it actually goes into production.

And he said they enjoy talking to people who ordered and are checking on the status.. so... no news for me..

One of these days, though, I'll have a real date!

 

Caulyne did you get the book?? I haven't. I'm wondering...it seems weird that you don't have a Production Date yet and ordered on 2/18 like the others. Did you max out on options or Color??
I'll be calling again on Friday. Hopefully they will put a on my face.

I'll just call every other day and ask them the status.

 

I just called yesterday, so I'll wait, maybe call tomorrow. WANT THE BOOK!!!

 

I just want my little mini to be born! heheh. (This is seriously almost worse than being pregnant and not knowing when the kid will show up... At least my son had the good sense to come on his due date.)

 

I left a message for my MA today inquiring on a Production Date, I thought he would have more USEFUL information than the website, not that I don't love it, I do, but I want a PRODUCTION DATE!!!
He left a message for me stating my Molly was "On Order" Duh...and he thought Mid-Month for production??
Anyway, he did say that my Molly should have a DELIVERY DATE of Mid to Late April...that's a whole month or 2 weeks earlier than expected, depending on how you look at it. He told me on Order Day a minimum of 90 Days. So this is GREAT NEWS!! BUT I still want a Production Date!!!
I'll be calling tomorrow and keep you posted...any other Production Dates??

 

I called ASK MINI just now and found out that my MINI started production yesterday morning and is scheduled to finish on March 4!

I was going to wait til tomorrow to call them, what prompted me to call today was that some of you who ordered a few days after me were getting your production dates. Of course there's still no date on the Owners Lounge so I'm glad I called. Spoke with a lovely young woman who is going to make sure I get my VIN as soon as possible. This definitely made my day!

 

Rats, it won't be here for 3/22....

 

ondrovic, are you stalking me? Haha just kidding! I need to post in M2C2 as well. At least we have roadodendron's mini for the 3/22 drive, and barring any problems I should have mine in time for the Dragon!

 

Just watching out for my Greenville peeps!

 

Called MINI this morning found out mine went to the body shop on the 24th with an estimated completion date of the 1st. Now I hope that it'll make it on to the 3-3 sailing. FWIW I first noticed my vin yesterday in the owners lounge.
