Arrghh! OL lag time stinks!

So... is the week number based on the start of production or the completion of production? The MY Clubbie apparently started production on 2/26, according to the MA. This is the 9th week, according to my calendar.

Have you guys watched the assembly video on the MINI website? I want a DVD of that in full resolution.

Maybe we're really the only ones in week 10! hehehhe. All these week 9 posers! heheh

Bad enough we're on the west coast, grumble, grumble... Well, I'll call ASK MINI tomorrow.. No book in the mail yet, no nothing. When I call and get the automated, it says scheduled without a specific date confirmed.

My baby just wanted to be born in March.. Now, my other baby, the poor little Gavin, is not a happy camper today.. He had two shots today and that's tough when you're only three months old. So I'm a bit distracted, thankfully.

Well, off to lunch for me...

Your production week is the week your MINI completes production. My MINI started production on Friday of week 48 and was complete on Thursday of week 49. I was a week 49er. It departed Southampton 10 days after its completion date. It may not seem like it now but production is the easy part. Getting it on the boat is more difficult/frustrating. But, its worth it.

I was just joking... You are all 10 weekers...

I know.. the boat is going to suck.. ALMOST makes me wish we still lived in DC... then I realize it'll be in the 70s today here and I have no traffic... heheheh...

To all my fellow NY's out there..... here's the schedule... so here's a question... if the car finishes production on 3/3/08, being realistic, when which ship would it be on? I mean, it has to ride the rails south to Southampton for the day I suppose. And how long after it arrives does it take for delivery? I'm 20 miles north of NYC. Does anyone know where it arrives in NY?

Harumph... I am just hoping the person I talked to (yes! I caved!) is incompetent. "Ma'am-- we show you as scheduled for week 10, which is the second week of March." Um.. no it isn't!!!

Honestly.. I got the new stroller I ordered to fit in the boot today (very cute little stroller, by the way), but, umm... a stroller isn't going to keep me happy for much longer! hehehe.

I shall just have to call back tomorrow.

Edited to add: March 10 looks like a good boat to hope for...

When talking to ASK MINI person today, I asked how long it takes between finishing production and getting on a boat and she said "up to a week".

estimated to be completed...

Ordered my MCS ss/b on 2008/02/21, and heard today from 866-ask-mini that it was estimated to be completed today!

Or course the website still shows "scheduled for production."

Still gotta wait for it to get all the way to the Left Coast!

Well I also caved in and called. They told me that my MINI was in the body shop and will be done on 3-2. I'm not really sure on what port it will go through to get to Colorado but I expect a longer shipping time as well. Which is kinda OK with me since I will be trying to sell my truck privately.

Caulyne I would call my MA, see if he/she can give you any information like when the spec'd your car for MINI. I can't believe you ordered a day before me, in AZ I'm in WA and you are not scheduled yet, that doesn't make much sense.
I really feel for you Girl!!

My car is currently scheduled on the ship COURAGE previously the PATRIOT... the MINI was ordered on 2/11 Built 2/19... much to my surprise it was scheduled to load on the PATRIOT on that day... it missed the boat.

A check here http://www.port-of-charleston.com/vessel_schedule.asp tells me that COURAGE left Port Charleston on 2/22. A check here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L...0080330&menu=% shows me that a new Voyage initiates from BREMERHAVEN on 3/6 for COURAGE here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L...080326&menu=VC shows her in SOUTHAMPTON on 3/10 where I hope to see my Status change to "In Transit." An additional check here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L...0080330&menu=% tells me that my car should be in CHARLESTON on 3/22.

If this works out it appears that from order to landing on the shores of the USA... it was 6 weeks. I'm assuming two additional weeks to actually get the car delivered to me here in Ohio... That would get the car here in the first full week of April.

Obviously the biggest delay is waiting on a ship from 2/19 till 3/10, nearly three weeks on the dock. I've read during all this that WWL is building newer bigger ships, 8000 car capacity, while a couple of those are already in the system the COURAGE only hold 5,900. Perhaps this effort will speed up future customers deliveries.

So you can be BRG with envy?

I think some of it depends on your dealer and when they get their production 'slots' but yeah, like RJkimbrell suggests a call to your MA may shed some light on things.

Since productions seems to take around 5 days, yours could start and finish in week 10.

LOL... I guess I should have picked the great PW hope?

If there's no status change by Monday, I'll bug my MA. I should have more than enough on my plate today to get through the day. (My sitter just called out sick, so, it'll be a full day of telecommuting and taking care of a three month old today... joy of joys...)

I am hoping your mini gets put on an earlier ship than the Courage. This is what happened to mine. I was previously booked on the Otello which will arrive in southampton on march 4th. Now my mini is actually already headed for NY on the Mignon, and will dock March 7th.

I noticed the change on the WWL website. Otello was "returned to shipper" and a new line created for Mignon which said "loaded on vessel"

Fingers crossed that yours may get switched to the Otello, or another earlier one...
