When I ordered mine, the sales manager told me they had two order codes they could use -- order code 112, which tells the factory to slot it in soonest, and 115 which basically means slot it in, but leave some slack in case the new owner wants to change things a bit.

When I ordered mine, I told the sales manager to go with 112 -- we weren't going to make any changes (my wife had already made sure I didn't make any mistakes on colour, even though it's my car, but that's a different story).

Cheers--

I noticed the change on the WWL website. Otello was "returned to shipper" and a new line created for Mignon which said "loaded on vessel"

Fingers crossed that yours may get switched to the Otello, or another earlier one...
Thank you... I hope so too! But given our weather here in Ohio I guess it getting here in April isn't an entirely a bad thing... I'll probably keep this car two or three years so it will have its opportunity to get exposed to our snow, ice and salt soon enough... postponing that experience for nearly a year might be a positive thing... but then again, sitting on a dock next to the Ocean for a couple weeks probably exposes it to a lot of salt too?!?!

FINALLY!

Looks like "Sunny" was the bearer of good news! I went into production today and should be finished no later than the 7th. (Which seems a little long for bare bones little MoneyPenny... but that's okay...)

I love the ASK MINI people.. I really, really do.

glad to hear you're in production now caulyne!

and CAP'N and Sboord, yay!! My mini will be finished 3-4, now we need a 3-6 hehe.

wow I wonder why some take more days to build, with all the extras I ordered you'd think mine would take longer. anyway, congrats to us - all our baby minis are being born next week!

DeeDee @ AskMIMI up'd my Completetion Date to: 03/05/08. I also got Molly's VIN #.
If anyone is wondering I asked if calling EVERYDAY was a bother, she said NO and politely let me know that they are NOT open on Saturday or Sunday.
For us US folks they open @ 9AM EST.
Is there anyone else on the West Coast who can tell me what ship we will be on??

If you are a west coaster and if I were a betting man, I would put my money on the Madame Butterfly, departing Southampton 3/20. Especially if you are a late week 10er. That's experience speaking from the Madame Butterfly's December voyage.

When I called ASK MINI this morning, the machine said my baby was on its way to the docks! I'll be an optimist and hope for the 3/10 sailing. Got the "Field Guide to Good Motoring" in today's post.

Cheers--

Haven't bugged them about a proposed delivery date yet (don't want to get my hopes up too soon); I'll give them a call Monday and check in.

cheers--

mellotron -- where are you in "upstate SC"? You should definitely look into joining M2C2, our Mini Motoring Club or the Carolinas. Look for information on the NAM forum or PM me, if you want. We'd love to have you!

Wheee!!! On the Toronto for Port Hueneme!

The http://schedule.2wglobal.com/ site shows my baby booked on today's sailing from Southampton (ED809-TNT), arriving Port Hueneme on March 28!

Thanks to all the NAM denizens for providing the tricks and techniques to support this level of obsession!

Cheers!

Believe I may make the boat this week as well

Placed my order this past Friday , and my MA grabbed a cars slot already set for production for me.
Called Ask Mini this AM and was told I'm out of cyberspace and heading into "Metal"... in other words being built as I type. .

Said it should be completed on Wednesday the 6th and headed to the dock by the 10th.

Not sure whether I'll get there just in time to get on board a ship... or will have to
cool my wheels dockside.

Here's hoping it's not too long. Went into production much quicker than I expected...

Glad to be joining you all !!

count me in

Hi All
I too am in week 10, and reading all your posts has filled me in with a lot of info. Thanks!
RJ, youve got another Oxygen Blue in the room with you sharing the same can of paint! Should I name it "Polly" in a weird mini twinsy way?

That would be COOL richardw. Let's hope for an easy and quick Delivery to the West Coast.
My MA seems to be clueless as to the goings on of my MINI!?
Ask MINI has been very helpful...I just wish they could tell you exactly where in the Birth Canal our Babies are!!
Completion Date 3/05...Outbound Vessel 03/10...HOPING!!!

I've heard that if you get JCW addons that they install them at the docks... Anyone know which dock? Europe or America's.... It's going to delay my baby a few days :(

disappointing phone conversation....

Spoke with Ask Mini, and I'm hoping he's very wrong, didn't seem like he really knew what he was doing.

Anyways, he said that my mini went into production the 1st. I asked if it would make the boat on the 10th, and he made it sound like it wouldn't touch a boat until the end of March?? and then 4-6 weeks until it got here to the west coast. Anyone been hearing otherwise?
