Odd - paste isn't working now.....
So zoom out of the Southampton port sat picture in the previous link, scroll north to Oxford, the BMW plant is maybe 10 miles southeast of town - then zoom back in. Lots more minis there.....

I just noticed on mine, when I go through the Booking number lookup, and it comes up with the 425 "returned to shipper" VINs, if I click on my VIN, it comes up with a cargo status history that has small print
" *Cargo is in Waitlist Status"
hmmmm.... overbooked the ship? I also noticed that if you click on the voyage number where it has it's schedule, originally it said arriving in S'hampton yesterday, now it says arriving today, but not yet arrived so maybe it's just because the ship is late arriving? I hope....

Hi:
Ordered my new clubman 3/9, got he vin # 3/11, just called 866askmini and it said the status is in the body shop and scheduled for completion 3/17.

Went through this process several years ago with my first Mini, but even more exciting now somehow.

Clubman
Pepper White/Black roof/mirrors/C
Hot Choc Leather
Anthracite Headliner
Conveinience Pkg
Cold Weather Pkg
Premium Pkg
Sports Pkg
Automatic
Piano Black
Park Distance Control
Xenon
Rear Fog Lamps
Nav.
Anyone know the actual manufacturing steps are and how long it takes to actually be built?
How long do you think it'll be until it gets to my dealership?
Somehow, if I recall correctly, last time the wait was alot longer, here it will be finished only 8 days after I ordered it- dealer said I was lucky- just got the order in at the right time.
Thanks for any info.

Thanks. Hope you enjoy!
I ordered my MINI on 2-25-08. It completed production on 3-3-08, arrived at Southampton on 3-5-08, left on a K-Line ship on 3-6-08 and is due into Charleston, SC on 3-20-08. My MA says it'll take about 2 days to get to my dealer in Texas and then a couple of days to install my dealer installer options. If all goes well, I'll be able to give my Dad a ride on his 90th birthday on 4-4-08! Woo-hoo!

Hope you both enjoy your MINI ride together!! That happened to me on 2/20... mine was ordered 2/11, built 2/19 it also made it to the docks that day where it was supposed to board the ship Patriot... my WW status changed to "Returned to Shipper" and my ship changed to the Courage the next day... then NOTHING!! Finally a week or 10 days later my MINI Owners Lounge status changed to "EN ROUTE" a call to my MINI Dealership brought news that my car would be in Charleston on the 16th [tomorrow] from that I was able to extrapolate that I was on the K-line ship the Emden I've been able to track it across the sea for the last several day here: http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...tml?call=3ERP5 hang in there and best of luck to you!
The K in K-Line stands for "Klassy", right?
Do any of you start getting buyers remorse as the wait goes on? For example, I ordered Oxygen Blue and have found plenty of time now to second guess that decision (never saw one live). I spend a lot of time searching google and flickr for photos of O2 blue which range from awful hello-kittyish baby blue, to a more dignified medium grayish tealish blue like on the build your own mini configurator. I emailed a friend of mine and asked for his opinion as to the color. his reply was "congratulations, you are the proud owner of a Tiffanys box!" I guess I'm a sucker for the novelty colors. I figure only you dear crazed mini folk can commiserate.
OK, put me on the next boat before the men in white coats show up!
Thanks!!

I look at the MINI phenomena as the NEW Harley experience only with a twist of practicality thrown in... In years past I owned as many as three fairly expensive bikes at a time... they all were customized to my liking in some manner... NOW, with economics as they are... my new MINI will provide me with both practical transportation and a somewhat artistic way to express myself... I think you will find in your car the same! Artistry in Iron my friend... yours may be in Blue... mine in Silver... but they'll be OUR creations and that's a beautiful thing in world where there's a look-a-like McDonald's or Starbucks on every corner!
