All Aboard! ISOLDE departing 1/21
I'm hoping to meet Kurt89A near sunset to take an official Otto photo. I have some pics, but only put one on my gallery as I need some for the article I wrote.
I asked the MA if many people had ordered Chili Red. He said I was the only one, but when everyone saw it after its arrival they were impressed with it. It is beautiful, I made the right choice. Never thought I'd have another red car, but this one is just right for me.
There's a small car show here in Prescott in April. I think I'll enter Otto.

You should have seen the look on my husband's and mom's face when I mentioned I might sell the BMW to get another MINI.
I'll wait a bit, but I really really love these cars. My neighbors gave me a bit of a hard time when they saw it tonight.
"So, are you going to sell your BMW?" My reply "No, not yet, it's paid for and I love it."
"Well what about the Suburban?" My reply,"It's Richard's wheelchair car, it has the lift in it."
"Well, what about the truck?" My reply, "No, I use it for my shop."
This from people who have a giant $60,000+ motor home.
They don't seem to understand that all the cars are paid for, even though I'm the only one who can drive them now. In time I suppose the truck may go, but it is Rich's and although he can't drive anymore he loves it.
This is why I prefer to not have close neighbors.

What kind of tint did you get? I'm going this Saturday for the tint day but don't know what 'shade' I'm going for yet. Did you do the sunroofs darker? Windshield on top 4 inches? Isn't life grand with a new MINI!!

Looking forward to making a splash in the sunset thread for ya!
LOL - that's why we have a gate, prevents chit chat with the neighbors.
I prefer this group of people to hang out with - never had to explain cars to them! Mine is the white one in the middle:

I want to find other enthusiastic MINI owners in the Bay Area... I have visions my (freshly named) Oliver joining a motoring caravan through the winding Bay Area roads. There seems to be quite a few boards and sites to look for that kinds of thing -- do any of you have recommendations for groups with a good "MINI love" vibe?

I'm lucky that's not a problem for me. In my condo garage, we have a new Audi, New Mercedes, New Xb... and everyone else is lusting for something... absolutely no negative judgment.
Maybe my boss thinks he's paying me too much, based on the purchase. But in a conversation with him today, I rationalized that it's only a $75 difference from the payment I had before... he seemed to think that was reasonable. I don't want him to think, while I negotiate my raise later this year, that I need the money for my car payment! I deserve it!

So Scott was driving home from work tonight, and while on the freeway, another MINI that looked exactly like ours, same color, wheels, everything, pulled alongside him and flashed his lights. Scott got the impression the guy wanted to race, but he obviously didn't, so the guy took off.
Kinda weird, but in a fun way. I guess.

Thanks so much. I love him so much it should be illegal. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking of selling the 330Ci convertible to get a 2009 Cabrio. I'll give it some time to think over, but I always liked the Cabrio and to be able to choose from the 2 Minis would be wonderful.
My family thinks I'm crazy as my BMW has only 5,600 miles on it although it is 6 years old now.
I think I could sell it for enough to pay for the MINI, but I'll give it some time. Meanwhile I asked my MA to let me know when they start a list for the '09.
Bad Holly, Bad Bad Holly!!!!

Just Cleaned out the Hummer
I just arrived back from my two week jaunt to Europe. Mic arrived at the dealer two days after I left so hopefully he doesn't get upset at being left so long at the dealer.
Just finished cleaning out the H3 and will be headed to Tacoma in the morning. I wanted to drive Mic back home in the daylight.
Hope everyone else is doing well with their new Clubmans. I'm probably the last from the Isolde group to pick up.

It will be so worth the wait. Your ride home will go by so fast. I waited 5 days til we had good weather for the 130-mile ride home. It was so great. My 85-year-old mom rode back with me and she loved the car. Now that is a true testimonial. I thought she would be scared, but we had a wonderful 90 minute ride. Now I am taking the long way home every night.
Enjoy every minute of your pickup day.
Crazy Lady!
