ETA - 27th of February

I just called my MA in mountain view, CA and he tells me that the current ETA on the arrival is 27th!!! This is riduculous. Its taking more time to get from Santa Barbara, CA to Mountain view, CA, than it took from Southamton to Port hueneme, CA.

he tells me that its "stuck" at VDC and he doesnt have visibility, but the order shows as "P1" - pre-ordered, which apparently has higher priority than anything else. Weird!
I saw some posts from folks as far as Sacremento picking their babies.

Anyone else on this list _STILL_ waiting to pick up? I'm very close to being disgusted at this point, but trying to pep up my spirits to be positive for a happy delivery

I'm picking mine up on Monday or Tuesday. It arrived at the dealer Tuesday evening. I didn't want to pick it up in snowy weather here so I delayed it till Saturday, but the MA has a guy flying in then to pick his up so we will go down Monday or Tuesday (should be good weather). Plus my sister got sick so we had no one to bring the other car home since my husband is in a wheelchair and can't drive.

It seemed to take a long time to get from the VDC to the dealer, but I suppose they can only do so many a day. Today is Day 779 since I put my deposit down on it (Clubman) so I understand the anticipation. Although after the first year it seemed a bit easier, watching every tidbit of Clubby news as it was released.

After you get it you'll be happy as a clam and forget the pain, kind of like going through labor I hear. (I found it preferable to have puppies instead of kids.)

Wow - that does seem very long. I would ask them to disclose exactly what "stuck" means. I could assume the worst (damage) but maybe it is as simple as a trucking schedule. Could it be that your dealer had only your car on the ship and as a result cannot get priority on trucking?

We're in Seattle, and got ours this last Monday.

Sorry for the delay. I'd be going stir-crazy too.

Thanks for the moral support folks, I'm worried about the "stuck" part. Hopefully its not beaten up. Will do more yoga for the next few days, to calm my nerves. Its my wife's car, and she isnt caring a hoot, but I'm worried as well

Vuganeja, I hope your baby isn't one of the few damaged unlucky. But as I keep saying, after you receive your baby, you forget about the wait.

I sure hope your MINI is fine, and there is just a dealer misunderstanding. I know how hard it was to wait, while watching the others on the same ship get theirs before you do. But once your with your MINI all will be well!

Rain or shine today I was taking Tristan for a drive. Lucky for me the monster storm that is supposed to get here today hasn't arrived yet. I spent about 4 hours driving 150 miles around the Gold Country this morning. It was beautiful.

I decided to take my dogs with me for two reasons - one was that if I didn't put them in my MINI really soon, I could see myself making the MINI off limits to dogs because it looks so fabulous! However, with the mat from Poochstyle.com, I wasn't too worried (of course I was somewhat worried - it is my new MINI!!!). And it worked out great. There aren't any stray hairs left in Tristan. Oh, the second reason was so that I wouldn't go totally crazy on the twisties and either jeapordize my break in period or my life! LOL

What a great day!

Oh - I posted some more pictures in my gallery if anyone wants to see what two 90lb Rhodesian Ridgebacks look like in a MINI

Got the windows tinted today... Looks great, but the dark grey sky is matching my dark silver paint too well to take any worthwhile photos. I'll have to wait for a break in the weather to share.

RR Hounds... I love the MY, and your dogs. cute, cute, cute!

The hounds look great - I'm guessing there are no threats from lions in your neighborhood!

I love the exterior color on the interior bits - wish I had thought of that. I did get the brush aluminum and I'm happy with that look.

No photos today, in fact my only excursion was the 16 miles to the mall in Santa Clarita. The Amgen Tour of California bike race ended in SC today and we were there for the finish. The peleton did 3 laps around close circuit in town (after a 105 mile ride from Santa Barbara) and after watching them go by once we walked to a nearby corner to watch the 2nd lap. We were quite unprepared for how close they came to us - they really dived for the apex and the riders were literally less then 2 feet away. It was really cool.

Maybe we'll be on TV tonight on VS. !!

"A Rhodesian Ridgeback a day keeps the lions at bay" - A bumper sticker I've had for years.

Okay, She got all pretty for her first photoshoot today. It started raining again right after I finished the windows, but hey... at least she's trying to stay clean.

Stella (Mini), Marnye (wife) and I drove just 2 miles down the street today around noon to watch the Tour of California go by on it's way over the mountains to the finish in Pasadena. The Mini is still dirty from the rain but she shines anyway!

Club(wo)man, very nice! I bet you can't wait until after the break in period to let that turbo roar. I'm driving like a little ol' lady right now and I'm averaging a little over 40 mpg. I will attempt to post some images here but so far, I have only loaded them in my OL album.

There are some mighty fine looking MINIs out there. They all look so good!

Club(wo)man - loved the location you used for those photos. The Queen Mary in the background looks really neat.

Thanks, I forget to appreciate our local attractions sometimes. I figured my Dad would get a kick out of the view.

I'm over 600 miles already... racing my way past break-in. But, I've been a good girl!

Wow, 600 miles! I'm envious. I've got just under 300, and was about to leave the house to cruise around again when my husband came home. He wanted to run some errands, so we went out together. We laughed because normally with it pouring like it is, I wouldn't have had any interest in running errands, but with the MINI to drive, I was looking for any excuse. (and he's still only driven it 2 miles. hehehe)

My neighbors, who are the equivalent of boyfriends, but without the drama, have been hinting that they want some time behind the wheel. I just smile. We'll see how long I can go without sharing. Not all of them know how to drive stick anyway... They're not learning in MY car!

Club(wo)man, please don't let them drive your baby. If they have brains, they will understand why you won't let them. Also, I have a little over 700 miles on mine now. A couple of more weeks and I will have break-in.

We hit 600 miles this weekend. Washed the car for the first time, then went for a drive and showed the car to my mom and sister. My only real complaint is the sport seats are stiff. I'd rather have softer and more comfortable seats, but oh well.

It'd also be nice if the ambient lighting would affect the entire dash, but I suppose that's too difficult to implement or they'd already be doing it.

Dang, I'm the pokey one here. Just hit 300 miles and did my first fill up. What a joy to spend $30 instead of $80 (pickup).

I just activated my Sirius today so now I get to figure that out. I have XM in my truck, so I have an all new setup and new stations to get used to.

OMG. I finally picked up Otto today. What a day! The 120 miles home was a dream. It lives up to all the expectations and was well worth the 784 day wait.
I hated to leave him in the garage tonight, but it was so good to see him home at last. I cleaned off the bugs on the windshield, gave him a quick clean up and said goodnight. Can't wait to take him to my shop tomorrow.

I bought the Woody cover and the black and checkerboard protective liner for the back. It will keep the dogs in the back better as it covers over the front seat back so it provides a visual barrier. I think it will discourage trying to get in front.

I'm thinking of selling my 330ci convertible to get a Mini Cabrio. Probably wait until the new model comes out. I would love to have a garage of these little buggers.

No you're not - I've only done 160 miles in 3 days. But all bets are off for this weekend - the sun will be shining!
