Tracking help??? (M)

How do I track my ship? I've been to the K-Line's website and the Ingolstadt doesn't show up.

Can someone help me with my remedial ship-finding skills? Thank you!

Just got word yesterday, the dealer expects delivery on 2/25! I thought it would be longer. Less then a month for start of production to expected delivery is amazing.

Can't wait to drive our new clubman off the dealers lot! Yeh! I'll post some pictures of our new addition.

Holly , my car was a K-line ship . I was never able to track it until it got to Charleston . They say most K-line ships do not post weather reports , and that is how they track ships . Sorry

Most K-line vessels don't update weather, so no tracking info. However, you can look at the K-line web site and look over their schedules. I just checked and it shows that it will be in Charleston on 2/27. However, it maybe on delayed since the arrivals show the date of 2/28. Take a look at:

http://www.port-of-charleston.com/vessel_schedule.asp

It will post arrivals and departures. Usually, vehicle transport vessels on dock at the UP terminal. Hope this helps. -chris

Here is an update on the Elektra - the ship tracking service does not yet show the boat in Halifax. WW now shows arrival in NYC on 2/25 (rather than the originally scheduled 2/23), and then departing NY on 2/26. Looks like we may be waiting a little longer.

Arrgh. MA says snow hasn't been cleared from the port. Car won't arrive until Monday.

Yup - and ww is now showing it into ny on Monday. If a 2 day delay is the worst of it I think we are in good shape !

I was able to register for http://aisfree.aislive.com/, but could not see anything relating to the US or Canada.

CG1 and HFX, the link you were looking at did not come through, where did you find info about the Elektra?

The Faust has just crossed the 50 yard line, err, longitude line. From the map on sailwx, it looks like its about halfway to North America, close to the Sargasso Sea.

Still about a week to NY and then Charleston. Does anybody know if this Northeast weather is affecting the ports?

I doubt it was the weather that delayed the Elektra since it was apparently running a day or so behind the mark half way across the Atlantic.

I woudln't worry about the shipping - a couple of days one way or the other is no big deal, its the delays at the port that can get ya !

Is the VDC in Charleston or do they ship them 200 miles up to Greenville/Spartanburg where the BMW plant is located?

firstnynj has the faust in newark 2/25 @ 5pm, departing 2/26 at 5pm. i'm skeptical of this for 3 reasons: 1. hasn't been updated in over a week. 2. the elektra is scheduled to leave the same birth at 4:45pm (updated 2/22)....would seem too crowded/close? 3. the elektra's arrival departure info was last updated with a delay yesterday....so things seem to commonly change on the fly. i hope i'm wrong for your sake. meanwhile, we wait...........

Six weeks to the day!!

The wait is over. Ramona is home.

P.S. Now I get to do it all over -- we ordered another MCS for my son when we picked mine up today!

Congratulations to you MiniRee! Congratulations to your son too. He'll soon have a cool car as well as a cool mother. My eight-year old daughter is already lobbying for her own MINI!

Baby is home. She was everything I hoped for on the way and even prettier than I imagined her. There is a full moon. It was rising low on the horizon, huge and the color of propitious fortune. See ya'll on the road. Ya'll wave, now.

Just got my first pic out of camera, Oxtox. And it was dream driving home. The standard 6-spkr stereo sounded great. It was night by the time we left the dealer and the upgraded headlights threw a pattern on the dark interstate to marvel at. Took the 90 degree corner into our housing area at 25 and it was easily still in the comfort zone. Amazing. Most cars make that exciting over 15mph. Guess the Deere is only for lawn mowing from now on.
