Oxtox - I agree with you, looks much to far away to get to Halifax today. I would guess there tomorrow morning (22nd) leave that night and then on to Newark on the 24th. Now just have to figure out whether I am going to lease the mini or buy it. I am thinking about a 24 mos. lease and then turn it around in two years to one of the newer model cabrios.

Yes, my husband ordered from Sonja there, but she's gone on maternity leave so I'm talking to Ben. He's nice - not much contact with him so far.

When we first test-drove a Mini back in July, it was with Neil at Moritz. He was really nice...just not fast enough calling DH back when he decided it was time to order the car.

updated schedule still has the elektra unloading and leaving at halifax on the 21st and no new bookings accepted.....interesting! maybe silwx is delayed more than i thought? firstnynj.com info is the same (2/24 arrival), but was last updated 2/13/08.

Thanks, everyone! I'm really excited - it's finally happening!

 

We made the Texas circuit during Summer 2007. After our local dealer lost a great MA who put up with our visits every six months for the last few years, things got weird. Strange talks of $2000 markups, etc. So we visited MINI of the Woodlands in May and Moritz MINI in June. Aka was honest and helpful at the Woodlands. Philip at Moritz was really helpful and attentive, and followed up with us regularly via email, in a very non-pushy way. Back home, our dealer seems to have dropped the markup policy,and we even met a helpful guy there, but Philip really went the extra mile to earn our business. So, we'll be going the extra mile up to Arlington in a few weeks, hopefully to make a weekend of it and then take a leisurely break-in drive back home.

We hope delivery will go as smoothly as the ordering process has been. We're getting excited too!

 

So that was 6 days until being released for a JCW ?

oxtox - WW still shows elektra in ny tomorrow as scheduled.

 

Hehe - well, he ordered it for me Christmas Eve and gave me the mini MINI with a key fob and t-shirt that night. So it's been over 2 months. And the worst part was that the production didn't begin until the beginning of February!

But my MA told me earlier this week that production of convertibles is going to be down for 2008, so they produce them all together (maybe since the Clubman is the new thing?).

Anyway, thanks you to everyone who's been so happy for me. I don't want to bore my RL friends with every little things about the progress of this car, but you guys have all been really nice about it.

I ordered my mini August 2007 ......issues, delays, lost cars and a crap load of wine and beer later, my order is set to port ever so shortly !!

 

Oh, my - the pain of having to wait as long as you would have driven me over the edge!

The pain is listening to family and friends.....but I am dealing with Princeton Mini and these guys have been the best through it all !! They have picked up all the install costs on all my extra's too.

 

so maybe we can schedule our delivery at the same time. you don't see many brg sidewalks...2 at the same time would be cool, and you could show pics of my fiona to yours. "this is you and your sister when you just crossed the pond!"

 

How far are you from Princeton Mini ? We know you will move through the distribution center faster than mine....but I can let you knwo the day and time I am going over to pick up mine -- may you can meet me over at the dealership...I will be brining my camera for sure !!
