hello, just picked up an 04 MCS!

Picked up this 04 MCS with 40k miles with a 3 year 72,000 mile warranty for 17k out the door. It's a blast to drive! Pretty much everyone who has driven in it was extremely skeptical about my decision, but after a ride they definitely change their mind.

here's some pictures...

always wanted to do one of these, haha (although the angle got messed up a bit somehow...)

woot!

I was pretty active on 8thcivic.com when I still had my civic and I hope to be just as active here.

Welcome to the group.

I also used to have a Civic. My '78 CVCC and I did almost 300K miles together.

Had lots of others between then and now but this is the biggest FUN I have enjoyed with a car in a LONG time. There are always goodies to add and ways to make it go and handle even better so you will get some good advice here.

Hang out and you'll learn a LOT.

Jim

Hey! Looks like a really clean car!

By the way: Reel Big Fish is AWESOME! Just saw them in Cleveland a few months back with Streetlight Manifesto and Less Than Jake... I'm a huge ska fan.

How did you do the see-through pic???

I had more than a few skeptics... I was told I had a "Chick car" by numerous people... until I unleashed the brilliant handling and surprising quickness upon my passengers!!

yeah reel big fish is my favorite band. I saw that same show in Chicago. They are amazing live!

To do the see through pic you use a tripod and take one picture with the bonnet up and one with it down. Then you go into photoshop, make the bonnet up photo your bottom layer, and stack two copies of the bonnet down photo on top of that.

Turn off the first layer so you don't see it. Then you select the middle photo, turn the opacity down (to see what you're doing) and erase the bonnet. turn the opacity all the back to 100% and then select the first layer. Turn that layers opacity down until you like what you see! voila! see through bonnet

and thanks for all the compliments! It's crazy that my EX had 140 hp, but was sooooo slow compared to the Mini. And i knew the handling was great, but not this great! haha

Welcome, I know how you are feeling as I got my '03 MCS with 34K on the clock at the beginning of December! My love for the Mini keep growing!!!

A civic question for you. In the search for Mini spare tires it was noted that Civics also have 4 X 100 bolt patterns. Where is a good place to look up civic information on bolt patterns, offsets and such for their spares? There are many more Civic spares than four lug Cobalt spares on ebay (and valuparts.com )

Looks like your cloaking device was partially engaged, that was an issue with the 04's. It probably has a short, but be careful, the wire runs next to the ejection seat wire.

well the 06+ are not 4x100. They are 5 by something, I'm not sure

the 01-05's were 4x100. here's a site with info about the wheels and you can buy one for $45.
