Hi Tig, It was great meeting you and the others from West Coast MINI on Saturday. I'm all signed up for the mountain rally. Rosie arrived at the dealership Monday! I've been busily breaking her in. Drove out to the Santa Ysabel gallery yesterday and it was closed. Gee, guess I'll have to drive that fun, winding road again today! How fun!!!

 

Tyler at Ralph Schomp Mini is telling me my car should be ready sometime next week.

 

johne123 on monday Schomp told me a week. This morning I have it. It's so much fun, and any problems I had in the process are already forgotten. My wife took pics I'll have them up tonight. My ma had me at 8:30 and another delivery at 10:00 so they seem to be pushing em out pretty fast.

 

johne123 or chur -- what was your total transit time from factory to Denver? Mine just started production, and it would be nice to know how long I have to wait in total after the car is finished next week.

I have some noobie questions I'm hoping you fellow Boheme folks can help me with (if anyone is still around!)

1. Do you hear a ticking noise in your engine? It goes away when I gas it, but maybe that's just because engine becomes louder than the tick...

2. Are the 2 bars in the rear of my car sway bars? (They form the shape of an upside-down v) Are these standard or part of some option? Eek, I feel so clueless!

Woo Hoo! Finally a delivery date!! Monday at 3pm. I would love to have had it for our weekend events - but maybe we'll get some other things done - got to make sure the room is ready...

 

1. If you have a Cooper S the ticking is the direct injection fuel pump. Totally normal.
2. Huh? Can you snap a pic? I looked under the S and didnt see anything like /\

 

I require pics of said garage clean and ready to go before said MINI leaves the dealership.

Mini may have a more techincal British name for them, but they are control arms, actually there are four of them...two upper, two lower.

 

Yes it is an "S" and no on the exhust tips, still the same locations. I had Skeeter up on the jacks for two reasons. First was to spay a couple of coats
of fabric water repellant on the fabric in the wheel wells to hopefully aid in keeping them clean in the rainy season here.
Second was to detail and put a coat of wax on the rims.

It looks like you got the exterior chrome on the mirror. Looks great! Is that the chrome package or was it separate for just the mirror?

 

Skeeter has both the interior/exterior chrome line pkgs.
