ScoopMama - my daughter didn't think yesterday's name was funny. She said is was a day for squares.... now how did she know about that reference Daddy-O?
Well MINI2na...the question is "Can you keep Up??" I've got MF for the Wheels (Costco Bundle), I've got MF for Windows (Griot's Garage), I've got MF for Washing (Griot's Garage), I've got MF for Drying (DP), I've got MF for Wax/Polish Removal (Griot's Garage), I've got MF for everything and anything else I need MF for!! You already know about my C@@L little Cady (Costco). I've added a bunch too, right now I just can't remember it all!!
So...I'm going to ask again "Can you keep Up??"!!

I had now idea it was Square Root Day until I heard it on the Radio...and for the life of me I could NOT figure out what they were talking about!!

Well, I'm not sure at my age if I can keep up! I have the Costco MF that I have been using (depending on age) on almost everything. I have some smooth MFs for the glass. I will need to replace my sheepskin wash mitts. You have a MF solution for that? I KNOW I need some Monster Fluffies for drying.

I do have a PC. It is an amazing tool. I'm not sure I need it on my MINI yet, but it helps on cars that have not had the loving care Molly and Frodo have had. Can YOU keep up?

Hey Gang I may have to take a trip down to AZ, Family Emergency. If I have the time I want to drive down. What do you think I will need to do to/for Molly in order get her ready to go. I may only have days to prepare, maybe hours, I don't know.

Thanks!!

Sorry to hear about the emergency .
We went down last March to Phoenix, etc. Probably the thing I was most happy I had with me was Sybil (my Garmin GPS). Depending on where you go though the maps can't keep up with all the new road construction.

If it works out for you to stop by - my office is just a minute off I-5.
We brought some quick detail stuff and monster fluffys for clean up when we got there. I ran her through a touchless car wash and then finished the work by hand (got to look good when meeting new friends you know).

Of course all the boring stuff like check tires, etc should probably be done as well

RJ - Minicounter has it right. A GPS is the #1 thing following checking the fluids and tire pressure. I have a mini AC/USB power station that plugs into the lighter that charges electronic gear. I use it for the phone, mp3 player, laptop (copilot use)....

Good luck! Hope it all works out.

I've got the GPs Unit guys, I bought a Garmin 265T about a month and a half ago. Not a Gadget Geeks Version like I wanted, but within Budget, that's what was important at the time. I'm going to download the newest North American Map version today.

I'm thinking of getting a Slime Kit and possibly taking Molly to the Dealership and have them give her a once over. A Car Care Kit will be a must to have with me. Ok, so if/when I go I guess I'm ready. If you can think of anything else, please let me know.

And Minicounter...Thank you so much for offering to let me use yours I am deeply touched.

Rasmussen MINI is AWESOME!!1

I had to go into downtown PDX today, to pick something up. I thought since I've got this possible road trip coming up that I would stop into Rasmussen and pick up some Anti Freeze for the trip, if needed, and to have at home. Well, I finally got there, PDX Traffic!! But I did not make it before the Parts Departmet closed, so I figured I'd be turned away.

WELL...A nice young Man greated me at the door, when I asked if the Parts Department had closed, he looked around the corner and sure enough the Counter Gates were down. I said Thank You and turned to leave, another gentleman came over and asked what I needed, I told them Antifreeze, they said they could take care of it. I had parked across the street, on the street too. The younger guy took my keys and went to fetch Molly, he took her to the Service Department while I waited.

As I stood there, the other gentleman asked, "Are you Molly or is that your Car??", I said that's my car and he said, "that's very cute!!"

I waited some more...I was told that they needed to let Molly cool down before they could open the cap, yeah I knew that. After a bit more waiting here she comes and all filled with Antifreeze. Don't know if they checked or filled anything else, I had just made some Washer Fluid last weekend and topped her off with that, so she shouldn't have needed anything else.

BTW you can make your own Washer Fluid with some tablets from AutoGeek.com and Distilled Water!!

Sorry this post is long just had to share how Great Rasmussen is and how they've not yet disappointed me!! I'm gonna' call my SA on Monday and let her know too.

Thats great !

But the downside to that is that they pamper my baby so much she keeps making up excuses to go back (Like she doesn't get enough spoiling at home)

The latest on the Princess is that last Mon I had the intake returned to stock. Today it has been a week and the CEL came back on. It took about a week last time as well. I'm going to have my guy check the code to make sure it's the same. They tell me the code is an unusual one (of course - she's not a commoner). I've had an ongoing conversation with Alta (they also have awesome customer service ) as well as my local guy and Rasmussen.

This time was a bit different though because she started cutting out a bit yesterday before the light came on and the light came on while driving instead of at idle.

Have any of you used a gas additive? Have you heard anything about the long-term effects of the ethanol? I already know she is very picky drinker...

Kids... got ta love em..

Minicounter...sorry to hear Bluebelle is having Hiccups!! I'm in the processing of trying to figure out how to change the Clock on Molly. I hit the Radio Clock Button, but all it did was show me the Time!!?? Got the manual out, will be studying for a few.

On the road trip front, sounds like I won't know anything more until tomorrow. I've not yet loaded the new version, but my destination is set up, Mesa, AZ. Now to figure out the 1/2 way point and places to stay?? I have several plans in the works should I end up going.

I've also got a Daughter that lives in Alaska that I will need to make travel plans for as well. Do I fly her down here and 'we' drive down, don't think for a minute that she's driving Molly!! Do I fly her here and we both fly down and just rent a Sports Car?? Or do I fly her into PHX and I drive down, pick her up and she can ride back with me to PDX and I fly her back to AK?? All this not knowing is driving me NUTS!!

On top of everything I've got to give work a 'heads up' and may have to leave on a moment's notice.

I really hope I'm just over-reacting!!

Not to throw another wrinkle in you plans - but do consider the weather.

We've had snow in the close hills here. I had problems getting back from Sacramento last fall since they were requiring chains over the Siskiyou Mountains at Ashland. Looks like it's OK now (according to tripcheck) The guy at Les Schwab told me that chains were not readily available for the MINI

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers...

The weather being so unpredicable, you are so right Minicounter!! Thanks for the tip!! A Carry Requirement is in effect for now and chains are NOT going to be easy to come by this time of year. AutoSocks?? If I have to overnight them, I can do that!! What other options do I have??

Probably your best bet is to check with our friends at Rasmussen. I've read that they only work on certain sized tires and the biggest problem is that there is very little clearance for getting them on. Good luck!
I found some treads on here that discuss...

RJ - I thought it was you that put me onto something called Spyder Spikes or something like that. I know they fit because I've seen the hubs on MINIs around town during the winter. I decided NOT to get them because of the cost. (We'll just drive the Subaru.)

Good luck with this trip. My daughter ran into quite a snow event on the way down from Seattle last night. 25mph on I-5.

Speaking of roadtrips...

How would you like to come down June 27-29 for a piece of this?!
The Redwood Empire MINI group is sponsoring this and we are hoping to take in at least part of it.

I checked out their events Minicounter, though I was not planning a road trip this year, this one, if I drive, is a must do. Looks like fun, but we are going to have to pass.
