R56 Production Week 34 Support group
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that things ended up working out with our MINI and we ended up taking delivery of it yesterday. What an amazing car!
We ended up getting an official damage report from the VDC for the car and it turned out that the damage was very minor indeed. All that happened to it was that the gas filler door (i.e. the chrome gas cap) was damaged and they simply installed a new one. The car itself did not require any body work or touch-up painting. Whew! What a relief.
I really wish that we had known what the actual damage was earlier as that would have saved us a LOT of stress (we actually almost drove off another dealer's lot with a new Honda Civic Si due to the stress of knowing that our MINI had been damaged and us not wanting to wait to order another one). Although I am indeed very glad that they disclosed the damage to us (another reason why we love our dealer/MA).
So... It all worked out in the end and our week 34 built MINI is now home (new gas cap and all
).

Grats Maven. I took delivery of mine yesterday, too. Got a few little bonuses while there. I ordered the Invisi-shield for the bonnet and bumper, they went ahead and did the gas cap, door edges and door handles for me too for free. I also ordered the collapsible boot storage($80) but because of a miscommunication on their part, I got the hard plastic boot container($249)instead for the price of the collapsible one. Nice, I said to myself..

@Tharkun,
I'm 100% sure that we wouldn't have. However, with the level of stress we went through, I'd say that it's almost better NOT to know anyway.
@darmog,
Sweet! Do you have any pics of your new ride? I'll try to take some of ours and post them for everyone to see.

Mine is waiting for me. I was holding off until by BMW (my2000 323Ci) sold, but my buyer backed out today! So, I guess I will be trading in the next few days (unless anyone wants a mint BMW...?)
Mine arrived at the dealership today. Supposedly the aero kit arrived unpainted (apparently some arrive painted, some don't), so that's the reason given for two weeks from VDC to dealer. Hopefully will be able to pick it up tomorrow.
Anybody getting hit with a dealer prep fee? Bracing myself to fend off a last minute switcheroo.

Where in OC did you buy it from?
We've bought four MINI's from Crevier now and have never been hit with any type of switcheroo tactics (such as dealer prep charges, etc.). They've always been straight up about the quoted price with us. That's why we keep going back to them.
Hope you get your MINI soon.

Got It!
Took delievery last night! I can hardly believe my MCS is sitting in my garage as I type this. I'm extremely pleased with the color and the Aero kit. I'll post some pics once I get a few things done ASAP.
I think I must be one of the last of the week 34s to take delivery. My theory is the combo of the PDC and Aero kit resulted in the VDC having to paint the kit, instead of the factory, hence the delay.
Hi Maven,
Crevier did me right - no sneaky tactics on the end, price was exactly as negotiated. They made my delievery experience a great one.
Cheers,
Pasta

Finally, after a 109 day wait, it looks promising that Wednesday will be delivery day!
