Took me two and a half years looking everyday...nationally. Got a little OCD about it lol. Oddly, I found with these particular cars, even if it’s not such a great deal, they get scooped up quick if they’re in good condition. If it’s a really good deal, almost impossible to be the lucky one. Mine wasn’t posted more than 3 hours, 2000 miles away, but I was determined...and lucky. Clincher is having or getting the phone number. Once you get them on the phone, it’s much easier determining things about the car, and more importantly, the seller. Mine was a 70 year old retired electrician, nicest guy in the world, but not totally aware of the value of the car he was selling.
Can’t believe someone here isn’t jumping all over this...if it’s still available, maybe just check for flood damage, but otherwise, a $7500+ vehicle all day.
Agreed, sounds like nice deal. Seller was very responsive and honest. I'm not pursuing further, so if it helps anyone here's some additional info:
VIN WMWRE33435TD94463
He has original window sticker.
Hyper Blue, roof in body color, black leatherette interior. Not a factory JCW. Has Cockpit chrono, chrome line interior, interior surfaces painted in exterior color, sunroof, xenons, foglights, OBC, HK sound, more.
CA car until 2018 when owner moved it to LA. "Front fascia" was replaced after running over an animal. Recent service, including replaced power steering under recall, motor mounts, oil changed in trans and supercharger. Windshield has crack from a rock hit. Interior is said to be like new.
I have been looking for about 6 months. I’m not exactly looking for a deal. I just want to find a relatively low mileage JCW with the right options that’s been taken care of. That in itself seems to be impossible even when searching nationally.

Yeah, they are getting harder and harder to find. Good luck with your search.

Maybe this guy will get back to you or WGJP can get you contact info if he has it. For that price, you could easily get this where it needs to be. Sounds like it’s had some important maintenance already done. I emailed the guy too, just for fun haha, if he gets back to me, I’ll let you know and put you in touch.
Sometimes CL responses end up in spam folders, actually happens frequently.
I emailed him again. WJGP, if you have his contact information can you message it to me? It’s not exactly what I was looking for but for the price it’s not bad. I wonder what’s harder to find, a car with anthracite headliner or the headliner and pieces separately? Lol
You can find most of the parts separately, but it’s almost $2000. I can’t see spending that on a $5000 car lol. Would have to find it from another car.
$4700 on the car, $700 for headliner, put it aside, work on the car, get good at searching salvage yard data bases for the other parts, let it be the icing on the cake 🧁
Didn’t realize the anthracite was so rare until I found out mine had the surface 7 interior, now I know why everybody likes it so much. Never was a huge fan of all black interiors, but on these cars, yeah...it works good. Love the piano black dash with chrome line. The grey dash always looks patchy and uneven, and blah, I’d rather have body color than grey.

Check PM.
I love the anthracite headliner, had it on my first R53. Such a nice difference. Had to settle for not having it on my current JCW. As nice as it is, though, it is not something I'd spend $700 to add on a $5-7K car.

yeah..cheaper to just not look up lol. I’ve been approaching things (like piecing together an aero kit) kind of opposite, like the purchase price of the car is cheap enough to allow the gotta have things.
Listed as a base, but priced like a good condition S... lol. Not a bad price though. Not one pic of the JCW badging or engine bay, clueless except when they priced it.

Easy to miss unless you’re looking. I know it’s a dealer, and they just look at its like a Mini Cooper, but not listing it as a JCW, or not one pic of the engine bay, well not the way I’d go about selling this car, but again, a dealer, and probably one of the cheaper cars in there inventory. Maybe a good way to beat them up a little on the price. Some people don’t comprehend the difference of an S and a JCW, particularly an 06 with factory installed bits.
