Our Road Trip out West

Earlier this summer, my wife and I took a trip out west and we FINALLY got our pictures developed!
Here's the link to check all of them out:(I have to apologize, they're not in order and not all labeled - sorry)
http://share.shutterfly.com/osi.jsp?i=EegNGzRo1bNnSA

Here are some of the places we went:
Colorado Springs
  • Garden of the Gods
  • Top of Pikes Peak
  • Colorado National Monument
Utah
  • Moab
  • Monument Valley
North Rim of the Grand Canyon
Las Vegas
Route 66

Of course I had to get some shots of the MINI - so I'll post a couple of those for your viewing pleasure!

"Loadin' up!"

"MINI on it's way to the top of Pikes Peak"

"Peak 1 and MINI"

"Colorado National Monument"

"Just outside of Moab, Utah"

"En route to the Grand Canyon"

"Route 66!"

"Standin on the corner, in Winslow, Arizona...."

Thanks guys!

I can't wait to go back. We had so much fun. Pretty much the only downfall was the fact that my temp. read it's highest heat ever at 120, but now it's consistently 10-12 degrees warmer. I guess it just wants to be out of MN that's all.

God, those pictures make me homesick! I love the SW and recognize a lot of the places you went. I'm jealous! I may have to plan a trip back next year...

Now, I'm growing mossy in the NW 'cause my wife can't deal with the desert heat.

Thanks - probably the best day for us was when we went from Denver to Moab, but it was purely by accident. I was supposed to spend the day at the track with Randy, but we never met up, so we decided to head for Moab. On the way there we saw some of the BEST scenery following the Colorado River. If we would have spent the day at the track according to plan we never would have seen any of it cuz it would have been at night. So I got over missing the track pretty quick.

Who knows, we may move down to the SW sometime. Very beautiful. Of course, that depends on what my parents do when they retire!

Ohmygod! You stood on a corner in Winslow -- that was one of the things I'd absolutely intended to do but somehow didn't!!! YAY!

Take it easy, indeed. There is actually a statue comemorating this song in Winslow...

I just returned from a trip to the southwest, I did I-70 from Denver to Moab, via state route 128 and as far as I'm concerned, it is the most beatiful on the planet!!! We were heading for M.O.R.E in Eureka, and found out in Moab that it was cancelled, but continued on to meet up with 4 other MINI's and do the Lost Coast Highway and the Redwoods. We hit about every national park along the way and Denver to Moab was the most impressive. We did 8,937 miles, 24 states, 26 days. Including Pikes Peak, Arches, Dead Horse Point, Bryce, Zion, Death Valley, Yosemite, Redwoods, Glacier, Yellowstone, Tetons, Devils Tower, Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, and then accross the Mackinaw bridge and home to Monroe Michigan. Best trip I have ever taken.

Is it me or are the pictures above all related to the 911 disaster???

Whoa!
wrecker - that sounds like an awesome trip! We also did Pikes Peak. I wish we would have gotten a sticker from the gift shop - grrr.

As far as the pics go - I'm not sure what happened there. Plus, the first pics are from one of our local MINI events from a couple years ago....

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll see if I can find out what happened.

I don't know what the heck is going on. Even if I try to fix the pics, I get different pictures after I use the insert image button. I'm thinking it's something to do with Shutterfly....I'll have to do more with it from home.
