Help Me Pick My New Wheels

Ahhhh just what everyone wanted another help me pick my new wheels thread,
but mama needs a new pair of shoes

Seriously though, one of my wheels has been permanently marred by brake dust. It is major damage & would require professional help to get it fixed so I am using that as an excuse to get new wheels which I have always wanted anyway.

I have narrowed it down to 5 choices. I want black with a machined lip. If you don't like that color I appreciate you but that is what I want They are listed in order of my preference but I am still a bit wishy washy so I would appreciate anything that would help push me over the edge & pick one. Thanking you in advance for you opinions (I think )

#1 & my fav thus far... Tenzo Dc-5 Version 2 ($750 delivered/set)

in 2nd place... Tenzo GF7 ($750)

in 3rd place... Tenzo Mean 6 ($750)

running 4th is Rota Subzero ($600)

& running a distant 5th but they are really a low price which scares me & makes me wonder why they are so cheap ...
Sport Max 941 ($500)

How about a sixth choice?

Kyowa KR228 Black w/ polished lip

$132 each in 17"

Sorry if I'm causing more indecision.

I like those OK but they are very similar to #5 & my head is spinning from looking at so many wheels at this point I think #1 & #2 are at the top of the list because I am drawn to the shiney silver chromey look in the center

I am really torn between 1 & 2. If #1 had the machined silver a bit deeper into the outer part of the wheel like #2 does it would be a slam dunk for #1.

I like these. I've always been a sucker for 2-piece BBS style web-spokes. . . and these are somewhat unique since they have a 7 spoke design

You have great taste, Teresa ! I like all those wheels.

But I'd have to rate your number one choice as my favorites, too. Those not only look great, but don't appear to be too difficult to keep clean (a high priority, IMO).

My second favorite wheel is the one you have listed as number 4, the Rota, Subzeroes.

Happy Shopping ! And may you and and your MINI wear them in good health.

While I do really like the black my #1 thought was that they would look clean for sooooo much longer.
I am very glad that you approve of my choices CR/PW because I would not want to do anything to jeopardize my standing as your most favorite CR Cabrio

I was hoping to be different...but nope, your #1 is very nice. Are you trying to talk yourself into them, or trying to get "NAM" to talk you into them? Or maybe just seeking validation that you have awesome taste?

Go for it and don't look back

I like #1 and the ones Yucca posted.

Here's another nice one similiar to Yucca's that runs less than $700.

I really do like that wheel but... I swear about 1 of every 4 MINIS I see have a wheel very similar to that design (in various finishes) & I like to be a bit different so that is the only reason it isn't on my short list

Get the round ones... (sorry, I couldn't pass that up). :impatient

I like the Tenzo Dc-5 Version 2 as my first choice and the Rotas as my second.

Are they all 17 x 7 and do you know what the weigh?

Please, please post pics before you head off to the Dragon.

Good luck!

Another vote for number 1. They look the best, of all your choices. I think number 2 is too busy, with those double-spokes.

Pull the trigger, and get those wheels!

I personally do not like wheels with hexagonal symmetry. I much prefer 5 spokes

Well now I did run across a really spiffy & unique set of square wheels but they just didn't make my top 5

The Tenzo D-5's are 17X7 & weight in at 19LBS. Isn't that about the same weight as my OEM Bullet Cabrio wheels? I hope so, I am not looking to race or anything but I don't want ot go heavier
(All the wheels in my post are either 17X7 or 17X7.5)

As long as the center of #1's hub doesn't bow out with the MINI's required offset, I think it's a winner...the one pictured looks really nice as is.

Theresa, buy what makes you feel good. We'll still love you, no matter what*.
I like #1 as well.

* unless you buy 20" clear wheels, then we'll laugh at you unmercifully!

I can't seem to find what the offset of the Tenzo DC-5's is but the wheel place guaranteed that it would work with the MINI

edit: I found the offset, it is 42. Is that OK with 215/45/17 tires?

what if I added gold spinners

OK I think my mind is made up. It's wheel #1 for sure. Now if I can just get my brake problem solved in time to get the new wheels put on before the dragon I will be so so happy

Thank you guys for all your help
