Well I ordered my new wheels today
It figures I would fall in love with a really, really, really new model that is just now beginning to arrive in the states. My wheels will not reach Tenzo in California until April 27th so I doubt they will come any where near reaching Alabama before I leave for the dragon on May 3rd So it's yucky, old brake-dust wheel for the dragon & some shiney new ones when I get back unless some miracle happens & they arrive early yeah right

Finally WOOHOO I got my new wheels on today

I gotta say they look much better in person (amazing actually in person). It was overcast
when I got home so it was hard to get a good, detailed pic but without further adieu...

before:

& now

Now you can really see the rusty rotor hats on my Brembo rotors. I hate them. Stay away
from Brembo rotors unless you paint them before installation. I mean what idiotic company
doesn't do something to prevent rust on the hats. Oh well, anti-Brembo rant over, that's a
fixer project for another day

Sweet....

The new wheels are HOT! They look great on that car, and I hate you could not shown it off at the Dragon! Now a pertinent question....What are you going to do with the old wheels?

Hard for me to tell by the pic if those wheel centers are the same size as the stock MINI wheels. If so, you just order some center caps from Mike at Aesthetic Creations... remove the existing center cap (be CAREFUL not to damage your wheel. I suggest using a MF rag against your wheel where you pry it loose with a very thin flat blade screwdriver)... remove any leftover adhesive... apply some fresh adhesive... peel off the paper backing from the new center caps... and stick those suckers on there.

EASY !!

To help you out, the center caps from Mike that fit the stock wheels are 5 millimeters in diameter.

Are they 5mm or 5cm? Mine are approx 2" across which would be right at 5cm (I think, I hate the metric system )

I just went & ordered the MINI checked ones. It says to put the size you need in the notes field so I guess he will do any size I dunno how exact the measurement needs to be but basically metal to metal the opening is 2" so that's what I put.

That Mike... what a guy !

I was going to tell you they're 2 inches, but then it appeared to me to be juuuuuuuuuust a tad shy of 2 inches... like 1 15/16ths of an inch. So the 5 centimeters appeared to be more accurate than 2 inches. I guess we'll see just how precise Mike is when he makes those center caps.

BTW, while I was responding, had to scroll up just to get another peek at those new wheels.

Oh SURE, they look good, but what kind of sissy gets black wheels?
You won't even be able to see all the brake dust from the stock pads.
A true enthusiast would get white wheels, and suffer.

I don't know what that means but I did have to get smaller lugs & I also need the hubcentric rings as I have a bit of wobble. Wheels next is sending them & so far they have given me good service & not charged for the lugs or rings

Well actually white wheels would not fare so bad with my new Hawk HPS pads as they barely dust but still... white wheels fugedaboutit. I will gladly hide my dust with my new black wheels

Hey those wheels look great! I also have Tenzo's ( Apex 18"), I've posted a pic below to show my center caps that were the same as your's but I added some " S" wheel decals that fit perfectly over the Tenzo cap. Just in case you were interested. BTW it's hard to tell in the picrue but the decal background is CF.

Here's the ebay link for the caps, I'm sure asthetic creations would be the same size???
