Pro Drive P1's installed...
Nice-
I like your new white racing wheelset over the stock silver ones in your sig picture.
Also nice use of an angled shot at the top -very sporty.
Now just gotta keep those puppies clean. At least you have removed your OEM dust mill brake pads.

Thanks minihune. The top photo is now my sig pic...but for some reason isn't sticking in this thread. Weird. I get the feeling I'm going to become one of those people I used to laugh at cleaning their wheels all the time. But the fronts have really improved with the green stuff pads.
dandp, beautiful wheels - great choice for your IB/W MINI.
But I'm confused. I can't see the spacing of the spokes well in these pics, but other than the shape of the spokes those things are almost dead ringers for the white OZ Superleggeras. Similarities abound in the world of wheels - some intentional knock-offs, some unintentional coincidence - but what confuses me is the OZ Racing logo on the rim! What's that doing on a Pro Drive wheel?
I don't get it - please enlighten me...if you can.
Also, are those 7", and what's the offset?

The Superleggeras are a 12 spoke design :
The Pro Drives are 10 spoke design:
Thge Pro Drives are a heavy wheel - 21 lbs, the Superlegerras are 16lbs(maybe lighter) From what I understand the Superleg's are no longer made in white. These 17x7, not sure of offset because I bought them locally from another MINI owner.
As far as the OZ racing logo goes, I'm not entirely sure myself. Prodrive USA This says manufactured for Prodrive by OZ. From what I understand, it is strong wheel - and with the roads and potholes in NJ, fits the bill fine. I've heard stories of bent Superleggs, and the price on the P1 is nice right now.

Prodrive, I assume in this case, is the racing company that is involved in WRC, F1, ALMS, and the BTCC. So I assume that these Prodrive wheels were intended for a WRX, but are now offered in MINI sizing.
Great choice Dan.

TomM - yup, that Prodrive. Almost all their offerings are Scooby related. I know the Scooby's are 5 lug, how this one was made into a 4 lugger is beyond me. I'm learning all kinds of things about the aftermarket owning this car. Maybe too MANY things
All- thanks for the compliments

ProDrive doesnt make anything themselves.
OZ, Speedline, and RAYS Engineering (VOLK) make their wheels, HELLA makes their lights, Scorpian makes their exhausts, and the company that makes RR's grills makes the prodrive grills.

Harmini, no rubbing at all. The tires are an OEM size, so I guess that helps a bit. I read one post where someone was running 18's with coilovers, and that presented problems.
JBOO, the color is a pretty close match as far as I can tell. I have heard in one case an owner selling the Prodrives to get the Team Dynamics because they were a better match in white. When you say side profile pic, what exactly are you looking for?

THat's ok dandp. I didn't notice b/c mine was filthy too! 2 weeks of rain &/or threat of rain kept me from washing it. Won't do that again though. Washed it thoroughly yesterday before the Italian Job thingy. I hate to say it but I almost didn't recognize my own MINI after I washed him!

Your car looks killer!
I have been researching this set up now for weeks and found a set of White OZ Super'L's 17-7 brand new from a supplier out west. The problem with them is their offset is 38mm, which sets the wheel 1/2" further out, and will deffinately cause rubbing. The lower the offset, the further the wheel sits out, the smallest offset a Mini with 17-7's can use safely is 48mm. The offset on the 17" S-Lite wheels that many get when they first purchase their Mini is 50mm. You didn't mention what size wheel your Pro Drives are and what the offset is, could you share that info with us? Its definately the best set-up I have seen and is certainly a great substitute for the Super 'L's. In fact the heavier weight of the Pro Drives make them better suited for the type of driving most of us are doing anyway, great choice. Thanks!

hank,
Thanks for the compliment. They're 17x7,(think it's buried somewhere in the post) I bought them from another MINI owner, not sure what the offset is. I know he ordered them for his MCS. I have the info at home, it probably says it on the invoice. With rough roads in the Tri-State area (NY/NJ/CT), I didn't mind the weight so much. The P1's have a rep for being bulletproof with the Scooby crowd. And the price on Tirerack is great right now.

I just spoke to the guys at Tire Rack they told me the offset on the Pro Drives you have is 42mm and there are people at the Tire Rack that have them mounted to Mini's with no rubbing problems at all. Another guy at the Tire Rack has the OZ White Super'L's with the 38mm offset and even he isn't having any rubbing problems. I agree, I live in Connecticut and the slightly heavier wheel is better for our normal type of driving. Looks like I have no excuses now to go ahead with this upgrade....................yikes!

I had seen that post about the white not matching, so that's why asked. It look pretty close in the pictures.
As for the side profile, just wondered if you had a picture from the side of the car without an angle or the wheels turned.
Thanks-
J
