Can anyone confirm / deny if the BBS RC323's (17x7.5 @ 35mm offset) clear the OEM Brembo calipers on the 2nd-Gen factory JCW vehicles?

The 7J et40 RCs clear brembos so the 7.5J et35 should be fine too.

Thinking in painting it in black, gold or red... (black with the red roof, gold and red taking the red roof off and leving it in the original color, astro black roof)

My old wheels... (loving the combination)

I think the BBS LM wheel is a perfect fit for the Mini Cooper. Such a perfect blend of classic and sport. I'd love to have a set for my MCS.

Here is what R90s look like with a Willwood 6 piston kit and on a Space Metallic Blue Checkmate Edition.

225's on RGR

Old thread... just wondering if anyone has run 225/45/17 on BBS RGR without rubbing issues. My R56 sits about 1" lower than stock.

Is that a misprint in your 16" R90 description that they're made by Cromodora? I thought 16 and 17's were both made by BBS.

Nope, its not. We researched it.

We have 1 or 2 wheels in stock that are the original BBS R90's in the 16" from the Gen 1 production days. (They look identical but you can tell, read below) At some point in 2007~2010 MINI switched manufacturers to Cromodora, all the other stock is Cromodora of Italy that we have, its stamped that way in the casting and also on all the box stickers. I know my MINI wheels pretty good. Thanks for the heads up and the question.

Thanks for the info.

Since you know a lot about wheels and deal with many different Euro car parts, do you know of any replacement barrels for the 17" R90's, preferably lighter?

I know rebuilding BBS wheels is really a big thing with the VW crowd and have seen stuff for LM's and other styles, but nothing for the factory wheels. It seems like there would be something since a lot of OEM BBS MINI, BMW, and VW wheels are out there.

Welcome.

I have seen the vw barrels and then they make new barrels but I believe they were 16" and the factory wheel, but they were 16" so that does not help. Most VW guys are taking old school BBS and making the face fit a 18" and 19" wheel on a 16-17" face and then making a huge barrel.

Bet the MINIs are they are the most narrow, so dont know if any factory ones swap. I also know VW had some BBS 5x112 wheels in 17". Best's if you want anything lighter you will need to have some made by BBS or at least check to see if that have specs on the castings and forged barrels. I believe the 17" two piece barrels on all the MINIs BBS wheels are swappable, but I bet they all weigh the same. Like R98s MINI and so on.

I dont know anyone making barrels off MINI wheels, which would be cool. Most people take them apart to refinish the barrel/lip or the face.

Trying to decide if I want to run these genuine BBS wheels as my winter wheels in black... Or get them painted (BBS Paints the wheels from what I understand)... in a silver or Titanium color to "pop" on the Pepper White car.

Sourced from the Brembo/BBS optioned Miata.... nice fit with the Brembo's on the R56.... HMMM.
BTW: had to have the CB precision enlarged from the 54.1mm-Miata size to the 56.1 Mini CB.

17x7 4x100, ET45

Looking good on this ND in Gold/Bronze... Hmmm.

Interesting comments about the "Rep" wheels... Seems the factory sometimes did that... if they owned the design..I've seen some Factory MINI Wheel designs that are made by both Ronal and BSS....Go figure
