On the tarmac rallye rough roads I drive on in Northern Vermont, I prefer strength over weight anyday. I'd hate to have to replace a cracked rim...
I've always taken the path of choosing the strongest rims over lower weight versions. The BBS R90s have been proven tough with the MINI Challenge Club Sport race cars since 2004.

Those look perfect, not a better wheel out there for the GTI as far as I'm concerned.

R90s
Just picked up a set of 16" R90s. Going to switch to 10mm spacers in front and move the 5mm that are there now to the rear.

Looks good... and if i had those on my car that's all they would do-is look good
...because I wouldn't be able to drive. Maybe you can get away with them in Miami, i don't know, but in the northeast...never.

Old-school 15s on '06 Cooper . . .15X7RGFs, forged, 10.6 lbs. Only wheels that got me off my holeys . . . needed more width. Really love these wheels
