Well I was finally able to purchase a set of the Hamann HM4 wheels from Bavarian Autosport. I wanted to get some feedback on the looks. The only problem I ran into was using the factory 205/45/17 Dunlop run flats. The 205/45/17 tire is not designed to be installed on a rim larger than 7.5". I just purchased a set of 215/40/17 Yokohama Parada Spec II's from TireRack. This is the maxium size that Hamann recommends using. For those of you looking for a great looking wheel and the need to purchase a new set of rubber, the Hamann is for you. If you want to keep your factory tires and save weight, there are plenty of other wheels out there for a lot less money!

Lookin' good. They'll look even better with the Yoko's on though. I have the Parada Spec2's. You'll notice a nice difference in handling, and looks. Post some pics here when you have them on.
Cheers,

Miniphyter808,

Thanks for the compliment. The tint is 35% all the way around, not including the front windshield.

NFO,

I researched pricing at all the Hamman resellers and found them for $330. Actually Rennsport had the lowest price of $325 but Wheelpower has a disclaimer warning about purchasing any Hamann product through them. I dealt with Jon Broome (spelling?) at Bavarian Autosport and he matched the $330 price from Wheelexperts.com. I'm thinking about lowering the car next but not sure if I should just do lowering springs or coilovers. I'm leaning towards the springs because of price.

Well the Yokohama's are installed. What a great tire!!!!! These wheels may not be any lighter than the stock S-Lite's but the car sure handles different with an 8" wide wheel! The new tires are 215/40/17 and sure made a difference in the width. Next step is the lowering springs!

NFO,

Surprisingly the gap was not that bad. There isn't much difference in the height of the two tires. I think the factory gap is bad enough but this didn't make it much worse. I think the H Sport springs will be a good solution for that problem. I just cant see spending $1100 for coilovers. Let me know when you get them!

Love your set up. The wheels look great on your "S". I have always liked the deep dish look. It is even cooler on FWD cars. One quick question, what is the offset of the wheels? I also went with deep dish look with a set of Antera 309 17 x 7.5? I am nervous about the final fit. (Wheels not due to arrive until 4/18) Have you had any rubbing issues? Probally not if you are getting the H-sport springs.

Again Nice Car .... will look even better when lowered a bit.

Peace Out

bonz,

I believe the offset is 43mm. The factory offset for the S-Lite's were 50mm. No rubbing issues at all. I looked up your wheels on the Antera web page and it looks like they have an offset of 35mm. My wheels come out right to the edge of the fender flare. This is mainly due to the fact that they are 8" wide. The only thing I would be cautious about is the chance that the Antera 309's are going to stick out past the fender. Do they guarantee that this will not happen after you receive them? H-Sport springs next!
