215/45-17 on stock s lites?

hi all. i can't seem, to find this topic in the forum. i want to up grade my tyres from the 205/40 17 to 215/45 or 50 17 on my stock s lites. can it be done? will it rub? oh and the car is dropped 1.0 f, and 1.2 back. can anyone help? thanks all!

Yes it can be done for a typical MINI. I bought mine through the Tirerack and they recommended that size. I've got 10k on the tires and have had no rubbing. It actually improved the speedometer accuracy as well.

But with your car being lowered I'm not 100% sure. You may want to give Tirerack a call

Gabe, you have a pic of your 215-45's on your stock wheel. Would like to see how much if any the tire rolls over the wheel.

215/45 works great, and only increases diamter .4 of an inch over the Pirelli's. Great fit!

thanks gabe. looks nice. but i kinda changed my mind. i want to go with 215/50 17. i think this should fit as well even with the car being lowered 1.2 inches around. :smile:

on second thought i better stick to the original tires before making this mod. gotta ask around first. :smile:

just for info i have 225/35/18 no rubbing, not lowered but tirerack said it only increase my clearance, by lowering because it slightly tilts the tires inward at the tops

Hey Caddman, what is the width of your rims? 7, 7.5 or 8 inches?
