18" Superleggera
#1
Hi!
I have just order my Cooper S, and I where thinking of some OZ superleggera 7x18" with 215/35-18 tyres, but do they fit without rubbing (I have stock supension)? When (if) it rub on Your cars, is it on the inside or outside? If it's on the inside, will it help with coil-overs?
Best Regards

215/35 is as wide as I recomed in 18 inch. Wider tends to take vehicle modification.

>>Hi!

>>Tanks for the info. Du You use 215/35 tyres, or do You go wider?
>>Here in Norway the Mini is not that common, and therefore the combination Mini and 18" wheels is very rare.

The cooper in the UK and S can come with 7"x17" alloys running 215 tyres from the dealers (well my BMW dealer is selling to me that wheel and tyre setup) The clearance of the wheel will be fine with the 18" rim as this is a very common mod in the UK on the MINI. I have seen several cars with 18" wheels some of which are from wheel manufacturers that only do that model alloy in 18"x7.5 or 8" widths! which is bigger agin than BMW spec wheel width...I know someone with a MCS with 18" x 7" Kahn RSR alloys running 225 tyres with no mods.
You are clear to go with your set up as far as most of the UK MINI tuners and Kev's are concerned.
Happy big wheeled MINI motoring.....wish I could work a way to fit 18's to my classic mini cooper RSP??!!!...hmmmm I wonder???...saws out boys!
