Low Speed Tire Roar

I just got my new 06 MCS last week. The car has been great, but at speeds below 30 mph especially while turning, the is a loud roar from the tires. I have the webspokes with the dunlop runflats. Is this a normal sound from these runflats, because I know they are usually louder than normal tires, but this is the first set I have owned. Does everyone else with a MCS and runflats have this road noise and is it more pronounced at lower speeds while turning? It's not unbearable, but I would like to know if it's an issue that needs to be addressed or if it's a normal occurance.

Runflats and performance tires usually make a louder noise.

When i first had Prada's on my Cooper, it sounded like a light truck with bogers on it going downthe street!

I have always had performance tires, but never had this much road noise at low speeds except in my old 350z that had scalloped tires on the front due to the fact that the 350z's had an alignment problem that ate the front tires and they could never get it aligned right. Except in the z it was more of a pulsing roar and the MINI has a constant roar.

Thanks for the replys. I had not seen where anyone asked about this phenomenon, so I thought I was the only one, but it seems like it is a normal characteristic of the runflats and the cooper s suspension.

I have the same noise at low speeds. It is especially noticable between 5-15 mph. It sounds very much like a bad wheel bearing. I have the LSD, and I wondered if this noise was a result of that, or just tire noise. I have an 04 Volvo V70R with michelin PS2's (235/45/17), and they are nowhere near this noisy at low speeds. I'm having some mods installed pretty soon so I'll have them take a listen.

I kinda have the same thing, but it doesn't seem like tire noise as much as a vibration that I can hear inside the cockpit. I chalked it up to a rotation, but my MINI is much older than the posts above... 2004 MCS

I just rotated mine last night and put them up to 39psi. The sound didn't even slightly get better. I only have 1500 miles on these tire, my car is brand new. I just thought that I had a set of scalloped front tires, but after inspecting them and rotating. I am 100% sure that they are just a horribly noisy tire and that there is nothing I can do about it. It doesn't bother me much at all, since I usually have the stereo cranked up. I just thought I had something wrong with the car, I feel better now knowing that there is nothing wrong, the noise from the dunlop's is normal.
