I have seen some mini's with that tire size. Go with the Dunlop SP9000 if you do because it has a more rounded look unlike Yokohama's or other tires.
An 18x8 rim would fit.....Hamann is running that size on their Coopers.

225 is wide for the car, the only car I know of with 225's had to shave fender to acomodate them.

hi dan, i shaved most of mine with my 215/45/17 already.....hahahahah
and there's only a few DECENT tire with the size of 215/35/18 ......

I am running 215 35-18s on ASA J5s that are 18 x 7.5
No rubbing, but when the H&R springs come from Randy, I will need to do some trimming of the fender liner. Here is a pic:
