I have a 2002 MCS with 17" Pirelli run flat tires and the front tires are showing the wear bars after 4000 miles. It's only the front tires that are wearing and they are wearing on the outside edge. The inner edge and the main tread are worn but not as severe. My dealer told me the MCS is hard on tires but at $225 each this seems to be a little crazy. Anyone have any ideas or remedies?

according to Tire Rack the Pirelli Eufori@ are $169 each.

Sounds like you're driving quite aggressively, or at least taking corners faster than "normal", hence the front tires wearing on only the outside blocks. Remember, the tires only wear as fast as how fast they're driven!

I'm coming p on the 14,000 mark soon, and I dont have signs of much wearing. Run flats seem to wear out quicker then normal tires though. I dont know what to tell you.

If you have aggressive driving habbits, you need to rotate your tires more often than usual. I rotate every 1500 miles front to back. Also I think you could use your insides more effectively by breaking down your wheels/tires and switching the side of the car they ride on. Its a bit of work but wouuld save on the wallet. Just remember that the tires are directional, so ensure they are facing the correct direction. Thats why you would have to break down the wheels/tires.

It should make your tires last much longer

The MCS is used as daily driver to school and work. The car has been babied for its life to date and that's why I'm so surprised with the wear bars. In addition to the wear bars the car tracks every small groove in the road and will hydroplane at relatively low speeds even when the tires were still good.

I would have the alignment checked. Particularly front camber, see if it is out of spec. If it can be adjusted without camber plates, I would suggest making it a little more negative.

If alignment is off, tires should be replace under warranty by dealer.
