They shipped the wrong wheels...

Has anyone worked with EdgeRacing customer service in the past? I ordered a 4 wheel/tire bundle from them, and they sent the wrong ones.

I was expecting: But I got:

The ones I have do have a black finish, but they're not the right ones. This is further confirmed as my email invoice specifies the correct wheel, but the shipping invoice specifies the one they sent.

So I tried to call them as soon as I got them yesterday, but they were already closed, and their answering machine said "We are on vacation until January 2nd, and the only thing we value more than our customers, is our vacations" or something close to that.

I suppose I'm stuck with these wheels for a week and a half... So I'd like to hear feedback on what to expect when I am able to get in touch with their customer service.

Thanks,
Waag

man...that really sucks especially if it's your christmas present.

your title says you got the wrong tires... but then it's your wheels that
are wrong (?).

Now THAT is very poor customer service. They are in the retail business to sell parts and just shut down for a week?

Lame

Sorry man.

Tried to fix it. Wrong wheels, not tires. Tires are right, on the wrong wheels.

It's too bad you did not get what you ordered. And a message like that is in poor taste.

However, why do people feel that every other business should be 'open' during the holidays...but their own?

I second that, you cant expect them to be open over christmas, there are very few customers for specialty items and you will notice most automotve equipment suppliers are shut down during this period. As far as the message is concerned,he probably values his time off but should keep his message more neutral.

The actual Holiday, of course, they should be closed, but NOT for the whole week. That is just lame because they will lose customers. This is a prime time for people to BUY!

I agree with you completely on this.

I'm sure that Edge Racing will make good on the issue when they are given a chance. It is just unfortunate that it happened at this time of year when many businesses close down for an extended time. For many companies this is their slowest time of year and will interfere with the least number of customers. So I'd recommend to relax and enjoy the holiday season and attack it once again in the new year.

It certainly isn't going to do you any good to get yourself all worked up now. You will just ruin you holiday and everyone elses that is close to you.

If you used your credit card to make the purchase then your credit card company can be called in to help with the problem should they be needed.

While you wait, check the part numbers on what you ordered and what was shipped to see if there is a difference. Check their web site to confirm that you used the correct number when you placed your order. Then when you talk to them next year you will be able to make your argument more clearly.

So, I say relax and enjoy the holiday, for now.

It's an interesting discussion isn't it?

The days are long gone when people could enjoy a relaxing family time. We've become a 24/7 society. Or nearly.

I'll be in part of next week. But that's because I'm self employed. Should it be ok to take the week off if you work for a larger company then? Because you have two weeks vacation time coming the smaller guy cannot take a break as well?

On the flip side aren't I taking advantage of your idle time by trying to sell you something just because you're home with nothing to do? lol

Just because someone is in 'retail' doesn't mean they have to be open to cater to you every day of the year. We like to take some time to relax as well.

Just remember to smile and say 'thanks' to the clerk at the 7-11 tomorrow when you get your paper. They're working to make sure you have a nice day.

Exactly, same as me,I had a guy complaining because he had to go to voice mail for 3 min before i called him back at 8:00 at night. His only question was could he get a fire place installed before Christmas.I said I would be glad to do before 31st if he signed up by today. He said he had to think about It and he had to do last min christmas shopping today so it was inconvinient for him.Blah Blah Blah This is what its like dealing with people in the retail environment. And yes my phone will be on between christmas and new years.

Just because 'business to business' people like me are home doesn't mean
that all of us are 100% "off duty" so stop yackin' jk. i could get
a call at any time and be expected to respond. 24/7 society is fine as
long as I am on top and it pays...cause if we can't do that, there are
many people globally that will take our place (at a fraction of the salary
too). :impatient

im in telecommunications and not unusual to get a call after hours (like
past midnight) to repond to my customers in Asia & US and be expected to
travel internationally on a regular basis... people on the other side of
the globe don't care if it's Holiday season here in America..they're
hard at work to meet our demands while edgeracing is taking a frikken
week long vacation.

happy holidays

Sounds to me like you have a problem with edge racing. You should take your rage out on them instead of the posters. What Todd is trying to say is that we are both customer oriented but you cant be open 24/7 and thats a fact. Most customers understand this because they dont work 24/7.Most small business owners exist because they offer better service which is a combination of product, tech support, personality, and reasonable pricing. If this was not the case small business owners would not exist. If you look at the vast majority of businesses serving the Mini community they are all "small business" owners.Guys like Webb,Helix etc are not open 24/7 and serve there customers well. When I started my business all my competitors told me you wont last, you dont have the lines, your too small, you cant get the pricing.10 years later most of those guys are not around or are working for someone else.Just an opinion from someone whos been there done that.

.
You had to ask....

The fact is that American society HAS moved to 24/7 business within the last five years in particular due primarily to the Internet.

Just think about it. I can sit here, click the mouse a few times at Amazon and buy, essentially, anything (its just not books anymore) ... and a few days later, there it is at the door. So YES, American expect it. BTW, it s not just retail commerce, its also the government. I would expect to go to my states MVA site and search for free vanity plates as well along with paying the new years registration fees.

Can the small guy take a break. Sure, but you will lose the sales to the guys who are open. Is it fair ... in America, yes, its called Free Enterprise ... big companies suck up small ones all the time.

Just because someone is in 'retail' doesn't mean they have to be open to cater to you every day of the year

No, you dont. Then again, if I am on vacation and want to buy something you sell and your not there .... then you better hope the other stores selling the same wares are also closed!

I'm not trying to be Scrooge or anything about this ... just that times have changed ... stay closed ... most likely lose some business ... depending upon what you sell

Have a Good Holiday

Back on topic. Sucks that you got the wrong wheels. Certainly, don't put them on the car untill you sort this out. I hope you paid with a credit card. That way you have complete recourse, since the item shipped is not the item you ordered. If EdgeRacing gives you any grief about you having to pay for additional shipping, I would emidiatly take it up with my CC company. It's their fault and they should make it right.

you talking to me? cause if you are, you're not understanding my
posts.

Never did I imply that retailers should be working 24/7 throughout the
holidays. Todd's open a few days next week, that's great.

And I really don't care about edgeracing enough that I would feel
anything about them. i have no positive or negative feeling right now...
infact, just neutral.

over and out. Happy Holidays!
I need to finish my shopping at a store that's open. hehehe.

I have. I bought some flik wasps. When i got the order everything was right but 2 wheel studs. All of them where right but 2, i guess thoses slipped in the bag. When i called them they overnighted the a new bag for 4 wheels, but when it came in, they had sent me lug nuts, so i called again, spoke to the same guy, and he went to the warehouse and overnighted them personaly. So now i have 2 full sets of wheels studs, 1 full set of lug nuts and they all did it in a weeks time, and i never ofcouse paid for any shipping or had to send anything back. I enjoyed their customer service very much, and will deal with them in the future again.
