Rota's coming out with a new JMAG wheel in 15/16/17" sizes which is pretty neat. I like the full polished look, and there will be colors too. Available in January.
For now, we'll need hubcentric rings but with enough Mini interest, they'll make one with the 56.1mm hub. Jennifer at sales@18racing.com will furnish the hub rings free for a limited time.
Their wheels are a terrific buy - I'm using several sets - and their willingness to make a wheel for the Mini shows they want our business.

Way to put the effort into your post

Why even bother? No link, no picture... what was the point of the thread exactly? Just another advertisement?

To save everyone else some time...

It's a Works RSZ-R knockoff.

I'm in agreement with you, but there are so many makes and models of wheels now that perhaps some designs resemble each other rather than replicate?

I do understand that a great deal of wheels look alike. The issue I have with Rota and this is just me.. Is that they never make a desgin that is not a direct copy of something else...

Passat, you're right, they don't have any original designs. When I used to run Rota wheels and people would ask what they were I wouldn't even bother saying they were Rotas, I'd just say "Mugen knockoffs" and then only if the person asked who made them I'd tell. No sense in trying to front your knockoffs as the real thing, people who know will clown on you and people who don't....well, it doesn't matter anyway.

Probably why they've been so successful. Years ago when they first came out I had a problem with Rota and their copying. Now, not so much. They've been around long enough to prove that they're making a quality product. Recently, most of their new releases have been copies of wheels that are no longer in production. Goes to show what the "average joe" is willing to spend on wheels. Most rota buyers would never have considered buying the originals anyway.

more on Rota
Rota was willing to mfg a stock Mini size which no one else would bother doing. If one's going to stay in G Stock or H Stock, the same size wheels must be used. Who wants to pay over $300 per side for autocross wheels ?? Not me ... Rota was responsive and should be rewarded with our business - that is if stock sizes are important to you.
