konig rewind? yay or nay?
Those of you that have the Konig Rewind wheels, they look GREAT
It gives the MINI more of that retro look..
I like them alot. I just may have to sell my 17" to get a set. I think the Graphite colored wheels would look great on a Yellow/Black MINI, what do you think? Anybody have a set on a yellow MINI and would like to share a pic?

I have a question about slower turn in with the 205/55/15's on the rewinds v. the stock s-lite 205/45/17 combo. I understand that the sidewall on the 15" combo is taller and that will introduce more flex and result in slower turn in, however can this be mitigated by using higher tire pressures?

Sure, to some degree. I run 40psi in my 205/50-16 snow tires for that same reason.
Increasing tire pressure will also increase ride harshness, again to a degree. I'd suggest trying 40psi or so and seeing if that feels more acceptable to you.

I need to relate one small problem that I've run into with the Rewinds. I lost a center cap on the Dragon last weekend, and when I checked the other 3, they were pretty loose. They originally were very tight, but I guess over time they loosen a lot. Rewind owners might want to check. Now I'll have to figure out a fix, maybe find 1 Konig center cap.
If anyone finds my cap on the Dragon, let me know !!

They loosen up because of the heat from the brakes. I put some heat into my brakes over the weekend and lost one cap and had two others fall out that no longer fit. I now have three more on order and they should be here in the next couple days.

They don't seem to hold up very well; I had a broken tab on one before I even left for the Dragon, so I didn't expect them to last too much longer. I am kind of disappointed in these, however. I wonder if there any alternatives?
I bought my wheels from Discount Tire in Indianapolis; I'm going to give them a call and see how much new centercaps are from them. $38 shipped seems a *little* steep from DiD's link, but not outrageous. Might take the opportunity to order some _metal_ centering rings (DT gave me plastic ones).

The weight and width of the 17" wheels opposed to my new "stock" 175/65/15 Conti's caused the car to turn in much slower than with my new setup ...
Not too mention that the car is so much more nimble on 15's
I love the look of the Rewinds, but have a question about the low, low price: Where and how well are they made (losing centercaps doesn't sound like something that would happen with a high quality wheel)?
Ordered my carbon Rewinds last weekend! Now if I could just settle on the tires...

If the quality is there, these sure are tempting! Cool retro looks for a third the price of any other wheel I like (Panasport, for instance, or Gram Lights 57C [not that anyone asked])!
They are only 15" but that's kinda cool, too. Darn you NAM! Why must you bring me so much temptation?!
