Looks like the Rewinds are available only in 15x7, et 40. Weight is 13.3 lbs.

 

well technically they can come in et 0 too.....but you would have to be committed to get that to work.

It's a shame....i wish they came in 8 inch widths

 

Anyone have these on an MCS? Don't know, are the brakes larger on an MCS?

 

I'm really tempted to get a set of these, they are available from Good-Win Racing (a Miata parts place) for $99.95 right now. It's the same size and offset for a MINI and a Miata (have both) so I could use them on either car. All I would need is two sets of hubcentric rings (both sizes are available from Good Win). The graphite centers look especially classy.

brakes are the exact same size. I have an MCS on order, and my rewinds will be transferring over to the new S.

 

That's the miata performance company that i was talking about. They had great service and everything arrived in a decent amount of time. You will get miata hubcentric rings, but its cheap to purchase mini sized ones.

I believe DiD bought his there too, although im not totally certain

Did - if you don't mind me asking, how did you work out the MINI center caps ?

Unfortunately i can't keep two....i'm just a lowly college student . I'm not deserting, just moving to an MCS for a change of scenery(i have had my cooper for over 3 years now ).

 

One more question, can the stock lug bolts be used?

 

yes, the stock lugs work just fine.

 

I'm running 225/50R15 Michelin Pilot Sport Cups on my Flik Blast-C wheels for autocrossing... +42 offset and no rubbing issues either place. I'd definitely have found rubbing by now...

 

That's good to know. The Rewinds offset pushes them out 2mm more than those Flik wheels so the rubbing concern is only for the fender.

Also, the section width of your Pilot Sports is 8.9" while the tires I'm looking at (Yoko ES 100) are 9" (2.54mm more than Pilot Sports). This means that on Rewinds, the Yoko's will need about 4mm more fender clearance than your setup. I wonder if there's room . I haven't yet seen anyone running this combo on the Rewinds.

I dont know if it helps....but my tires are the Kumho SPT's 205/50/15. I am lowered and have auto-x'd and driven with no rubbing whatsoever.

I special ordered Konig Rewinds at a Discount Tire today. $97 delivered, with caps and metal hub rings. I will let you know when they show up.

I'm thinking BFG g-force Sports, 205/55. I wanted the KDW2's, but they think a little too highly of them. Tirerack rates the Sports pretty highly, at 2/3 the price of the KDW2. Less bling, however.

I'd like to thank RallyMINI and DiD for their excellent advice! This is a great combo. 15x7 40ET Rewinds are just right. Discount Tire got the Rewinds at a good price, supplied 73/56 aluminum hub rings, and mounted them right. They used tape weights and torqued them by hand. No shake, shimmy, or rubbing. The Cooper feels great, stuck to the road with 205/55-15 BFG G-Force Sports. I'm happy, and I'm heading to the hills tomorrow to break them in. See gallery for photos.
