Question: buying packages from the internet

Hey, guys...
Lately, I look at some site on the internet... and find this one: http://www.victoriatire.com/index.ht...55212716910379???

The packages look so cheap...but I am not sure if that site is safe or not....

can anyone give me some opinion please????

The prices might look reasonable (I have not done any formal comparisons) but for us Canadians, the shipping costs, customs fees, and exchange rate will be brutal.

I recently ordered a US$95 item from MINI Mania and paid Can$49 in customs/brokerage fees (billed to me one month after receiving the shipment!). This included a $28.30 "Entry Prep Fee"...for a small unopened box!!!

I cannot speak for the reputation of Victoria Tire, but if you're here, might as well check out the NAM sponsors...The Tirerack

I bet that was UPS - We began using Fed Ex exclusivly to Canada about 6 months ago, for just that reason - outrageous charges!

You can always try Wheelguyz.com because the price is about the same and they have free shipping. Also they are having a sale right now too...................

I would bet they are a safe site. The actual store has been around for years. I bought some tires from them 11 years ago......if you have any concerns you could probably check them out with the BBB in the city they are located. I am considering buying a pkg from them myself. What are you planning on getting?

Anybody have more recent experience with Victoria Tire and Wheels? Last thread response was from 2005.

They have many wheel styles that the other main US online vendors don't have that I'm really interested in.

I'm not worried about shipping to Canada since I live close to the US border and pick them up there and pay taxes when coming back home.

Also, any other reputable online US wheel vendors out there rather than Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct?
