Well... I have a CR/W MCS on order, mid March build. I have a bit of time to finalize my order spec's. I'm going with the stock 16 inch x spokes and, for now, have the silver spec'd. I've seen some previous threads on this... but I'd like an update from any of you out there who have either version, or have an opinion based on seeing both.

I'm not sure that the cleaning issue is relevant. I'm going to wax them them well, clean often, and this car will not be in daily service for commuting... I have a Toyota pickup for most utility driving. This baby is for fun...

My 'design professional' daughter and wife are lukewarm about white wheels and I would be happy with either. The only thing that concerns me about my decision to get the silver wheels is the fact that I keep coming back to thoughts of the white ones.

Anybody have experience with being on the fence about the decision... and how did you feel about your choice later.

I am very stoked about getting this car... deciding on which car to get was tough, there are some nice ones out there, and some new ones coming out soon... but for 'motoring', the Mini won out.

I have both white and silver... White S lites on summer tires.. Silver S lites with winter tires. I REALLY prefer the white (although they do get dirty).

I guess it depends on the color scheme your going with. I have Electric Blue with white bonnet, boot and side stripes and a Cooper Flags furled glory on the roof. Silver wheels just don't look right with this scheme.

 

I have the silver. White wheels don't do anything for me. Of course, it's all personal taste.

 

Didn't you just install some nice BLACK Flik WASP wheels?

 

I have white on my CR/W MCS. They do need a little more attention to keep clean, but the look far outweighs the hassle. Go for the white, you won't be sorry. my 0.02

 

Yes, but I still OWN the silver x-lites, and I had them on the car for 2 1/2 years.
With brake dust, silver looks like anthracite. White looks like silver.

 

I would have spec'd my IB/W with the silver wheels, only because I thought the white would be overkill. BUT, I ended up getting a used '04 and the white wheels definitely work with the white roof, stripes and mirrors. I'll probably pick up a set of x-lites just to lose the boat anchor s-lites, and will probably get them in silver since that's what seems to be available. That way I'll have a choice of shoe color.

 

I have white wheels with white roof and mirrors. They definitely look better with the white roof IMHO. And since keeping them clean won't be that much of an issue with you, I say definitely go white.
