Wheel Websites
Wheel Websites
Ok, aside from tirerack, wheelmax & whalentire, what are some good websites to buy wheels? Also, what is the bolt pattern and offset for 16" on the MCS? I want to stay with 16" so I can use the same tires that come with the car.
Much thanks.

Try these guys. I've dealt with them a few times. They don't have a huge selection, but the prices are good. Three days after placing my order the tires were at the door.

Bolt pattern is 4x100.
16" offset is ET50 (X-Lite) or ET48 for the 16" R90s.........
Most aftermarket wheels have more aggressive offsets than these (e.g. ET42) pushing them farther out. Take a look at the FAQ section on wheels/tires.
Also, this site is very helpful http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbi...yre_bible.html

Sandtoast,
Thanks for all those sites. I checked them all out, yes already, and wheels direct online looks to have a couple I am very interested in. The other sites were either too expensive (for me) or didn't have anything I liked.
gr8britwjh,
Thanks for that info. I'll check out the FAQ right now.

They have loads of Miata stuff and some of it works for the MINI.

The cheapest price is not always the best way to go.
Some sites don't carry all brands so you'll have to shop.
Between edgeracing.com and tirerack.com I can usually find almost any desireable brand or tire.
If you are replacing your stock 16x6.5" wheel and reusing your 16" runflat tires you can choose various rim widths from 6.5 to 7" easily and wheel offsets from the stock +48-50mm to +42mm if you have lowered your MINI.
Stock suspension allows a broader range of offsets from about +38mm to +50mm. If this doesn't make sense call Alex@tirerack - he'll help you with planning.
Later, when the runflats wear out you can replace the 16" tires will another size non runflat tire using these 16" rims.
You'll need a tire shop that handles runflats- that might also increase the cost of remounting and balancing them. Non runflats in 16" are not that expensive. Many owners simply use up the runflats on stock wheels and then use the stock rims for snow tires. They buy aftermarket rims and non runflat tires mounted and balanced (at minimal additional cost) and ground shipping is not bad.
Rspeed.net also has a selection of 16" Rota rims. Usually good prices

Minimania has wheels as well.

Minihune,
Thanks for the advice. I wasn't looking to be cheap for the sake of being cheap but rather I have a limited budget. Basically I can't afford more than $125 a rim. Now I am good friends with the owner of a tire/alignment shop and am 99% sure they handle run-flats. That will make the cost of switching the tires from rim to rim pretty cheap.
Right now I am considering 2 different Enkei models and a Konig model and I'm leaning towards the Konig one. All are 16x7 but I don't know the offset.
I don't know what I will do when the run-flats need to be replaced. Since there's no spare in the S I don't want to be totally subject to the perils of the roads. I'd either get a good roadside coverage plan and get regular tires or shell out the dough for more run flats.
Again, appreciate all the help.

I found the wheels I wanted online and a local America's Tire was able to order them for a very good price. Might want to check local wheel shops as well.
Check out Rota and Exel wheels if you want cheap and light.
