18" wheel offset
Looking for memberes who are running 18" I need to know what is the best wheel offset to go with. My MCS will be lowered at least 1.5 a lot of membere post pictures of lowered MINI with 18" wheels, but fail to give the offset.
Thanks JOHN
Thanks JOHN
>>Alex, looking at going with a 18x7.5 and what is ment by see stickey @top ? you lost me
7.5 with et 45 should be good to go with minimal rear trimming. My sticky on wheel and tires shows weiight and offsets. You can allways use them as a general cross referance

Nocivic,
To avoid rubbing consider- there is only so much room in the wheel well.
Offset- will depend on your suspension and can vary from 37mm to 48mm if you use the stock parts.
Once you drop the car you will have to limit offset to 40mm to 42mm as a limit and 45 mm would be safer.
But that may depend on the width of the rim. The wider the rim and tire size the more you have to be conservative and get closer to 45mm offset.
For 18x7.5 rim a 45 offset would be good and maybe outer limit of 42mm but it is possible you might get some intermittent rubbing. You can find no rubbing with one or two people but when loaded with four it rubs in the back at about 2 O'clock position. If it is minor rubbing then you don't have to fuss much but it needed you might need to trim the inner wheel well with a dremmel tool. Common tire size for this rim is 215/35-18.
Whether 42mm offset will work may also depend on the tire. Those with a wide broad shoulder like the Yokohama AVW ES100 will tend to risk rubbing even in a "safe" size. If you choose wider tires you also risk some rubbing and if the outer diameter of the tire is taller rather than shorter then you run some risk.

Yea I know that different tires of the same size are in deed different, At one time I had Nitto NT 555's on my Civic. After those tires needed replacing I went with the Nitto NT 450's and had rubbing, however they were the same size. I could always go with a 205-40-18" tire. The side wall will be just a little taller, like .1/4 it would close the gap between the wheel arches and the top of the tire more and not be as wide? any input on that.
