Lug bolts vs Lug nuts

Are their any mini owners here on NAM that have switched from the stock lug bolts over to lug nuts ?

Is this a good thing to do for safety or just because its easier to install the wheels on the car ?

Any input on this subject would be good to know.

Thanks

You can swap them... But if you want a cheaper/easier idea..

Keep one in your glovebox.

Been telling m'self to get one the last 5 years but just haven't moved past dead center on the issue. Still, the way to go.

Buy one.. I've had them for years for my VWs.. I'm not sure... But I think the thread for Modern VWs is the same as BMW/Mini.. ( however the wheel bolt seats are not.. Cone vs ball seat..). But that does not effect the wheel hanger.. VWs actually came/come with a plastic wheel hanger in the spare kit.

I purchased aluminum wheel hangers before I got my car. Been ready since day one.

I am switching to studs, so much easier. The hanger is a good idea, but I dunno. Plus I like racecar-ish look of the studs and pass-through lugnuts

I use the wheel hanger, $10 from eBay. Makes it much easier to change wheels.

I switched to but they get rust on them inside the pass through lug nut. Looking for closed lug nuts now.
