Got a set for a ridiculous price (285 all four!) and they are A W E S O M E ! No more under steer! Just thought I'd share.

Welcome to the Michelin Pilote Super Sport club

I haven't seen too many people running them because their are a bit pricey BUT I love those on my other car. These shoes are just awesome it puts a smile on my face when I get spirited

Now I'm not sure what I'm going to do since there's no spare tire in the cooper S

So . . . what do you do with no spare?

When you've had a 3 flats in less than 3 years because of stupid road work, nails, screws, etc... it's hard not to worry about it

I've been thinking about getting a small spare tire wheel and stick it in the trunk but I don't know if it's a stupid idea . . .

$285 for all four?! They're almost that much each at most places! I'm assuming they weren't new?

Loving my own PSS, by the way; there have been a few times where I was sure (judging by G-forces) the car would break loose, but never a complaint from these tires

Yes that was 285 shipped, brand new, got a friend who works at Michelin.
They are really grippy, they can still under steer at the limit but I'm not complaining.

i've got close to 1,000 miles on 225/50R18 michelin PSS and i think they are the best tire i have ever owned

had a chance to run them in a monsoon like rain storm last week ... the wet traction is great

the stopping power is eye-popping

i carry plugs and CO2 gas to deal with flats

http://www.dynaplug.com/products.html

i have the dynaplug pro aluminum

http://www.jpcycles.com/product/911-014

Genuine Innovations Monster Air Chuck and 2 cartridges ... this is the best price i found

http://www.maximuminflation.com/tires_new.html

scroll all the way to the bottom of the page for the 74 gram cartridges that work with the monster air chuck

http://www.stopngo.com/products/Stan...e-Plugger.html

the tire plugger is another good option, but it packs larger than the dynaplug ... i take the dynaplug on my mtorcycle too so size was a consideration

I just put a set of these on my Countryman. I love them but they seem to have more road noise then what I am used to. Is that typical?

What psi are you running? (The recommendation on the door +-)?

I've had a set of 235/50 ZR 17's on since January and have about 3k on them and they show little to no wear. They are much quieter than OEM r/fs and handle 10x better.

I'll let you know how they do on track, am doing Brainerd Int'l tomorrow

Wheels are Drag 45's and pretty simple to keep clean... Wash, dry and coat w/Armourall wheel coat. I'm not a big fan of Armourall, but their wheel coat works well.

i went with the 225/50R18 PSS which is an XL rated tire so the pressure may or maynot work for none XL rated sizes, but i am running 38 front and 33 rear ... at these pressures i am just hitting the "wear marks" on the edge of the tread

i have gone +/- 4 psi from those pressures but keep coming back to 38f/33r

i find them much quieter than the 225/45 pirelli P7 summers that were the OEM tire

In Feb I replaced my stock Conti runflats with PSS in 215-45-17.
Everything about these tires is an improvement. Grip and road noise are so much better, there's no comparison!

Now, the downside. These babies will be shot well before 15k, and and I do zero tracking or autox'ing. My fronts have less than 5k right now and are well past the halfway mark. I LOOOVE these tires but will consider something different next time, as the price and treadwear aren't the best match for a street-only daily driver.

They do have a 30k tread warranty right?

40k!

Be sure to check air pressure and rotate regularly! Every 4-5k or so!

Correct, they have a 30k tread warranty, I just didn't expect them to be gone in half that at best...

I had these on my subaru STi and I swear by these tires for everything day driving. I had 32K miles on my tires and still had 4/32n tread left on it. Thats with some spirited driving too. They do feel a little numb when it's hot out and hitting an on-ramp but otherwise they stick!
