Where do you keep your spare after ditching runflats?
I'm soon to be taking delivery of a 2012 countryman. My plan is to stay with the runflats until they wear out and then change to normal tires. So that mean I buy a spare like the spare in a bag kit I've seen on this and other sites.
So where do you store it? You leave it in the back seat to roll back and forth every time you turn or stand it up in the boot and tie it off somehow?

We do have a recess in the boot, but not one that's spare-shaped, and I'm not sure exactly how big a spare it would hold. I'm looking forward to answers on this, since I'll be happier once my runflats wear out if I can buy regular tires and a slime kit and keep a donut under the flat-load floor in case the damage to the tire is too extensive for slime to work.
I hate the idea of waiting for AAA just over a ripped tire. And MINI roadside assist is no good if you have a shredded non-runflat because it'll only take you to a dealership, and they won't replace your tires with non-runflats. At least that's what I think the deal is.
So I'm REALLY interested to hear if anybody has a good spare solution as a backup to a slime kit.

I have slime, plug kit, small air compressor, AAA, and cell phone.
I have not had to use the slime or plug kit in 100,000+ miles of non-runflats on my Minis. I have had a few slow leaks (nails/screws in tire) that set off the tire pressure light but they only required filling with air until I could get to a tire store for repair.

Same here, for now. I'll get a spare and figure out where to keep it when I get around to it. Probably after I get a flat.

I use a donut spare which sits on the floor behind the passenger seat. If I need the rear seats it fits temporarily into the boot. I keep it in a canvas tire bag from The Bag Lady.....njbaglady.com. Good luck!
I didn't have to measure. Here's what a Mini Mania rep told me:
So there you go. I'm wondering if I can get something like this, keep it in the bag and strap it off to the side so my seats still go up and down easily and my dogs can get in and out of the back easily. If I ever figure this out, I'll certainly post my solution.
You are correct - this spare tire is too tall to fit under the floor in the rear....
If you get this tire with the storage / carrying bag - it won't look so bad sitting in the back...

My patch kit is one of these....
