Help me identify my tires

As mentioned in a separate thread, my rear left tire is leaking. I'm gonna go ahead and just replace the single tire, and I can't seem to figure the exact part of my tires.

i called my dealership, and they can't tell me the part based just based on my vin, and i didn't really want to drive all the way down there...since i don't really plan on buying the tires from there.

anyway, can anyone help me find an identifier for this thing? there's way too much stuff in there, and i just googled everything but i just end up more confused than when i started.

It's a michelin, says "energy saver" on it. 195/55/r16, "e2" "radial x", "87H" "06 9604 01" and lots and lots of numbers. According to my dealership, it's a runflat.

I thought i found a match for them during my search, but the match i found isn't a runflat.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Doesn't appear to be a run-flat.

This is easy.

Just drive down to your Michelin tire dealer and ask about replacing the tire with the same one that is on it now.

It is a Micheiln "Energy Saver"

Size is: 195/55/16

It is a radial

It should say run-flat someplace on it.( Michelin dealer will know)

Go on line to the Tire Rack or Ask Alex at the tire rack about cost and shipping.

OEM tires cost way more then NON-OEM tires so don't be shocked when they give you a price on the tire.

wow, fast response.

i was kinda hoping that it's not a runflat. although it does say "michelin tubeless" on it. it does not say "run flat" explicitly though. does that count?

___

i also want to re-ask the question i asked on another thread. is it feasible to just keep this tire and to simply continue inflating it? or is that asking for an accident?

If it's got plenty of tread left, patch it.

it's actually just 2 months old. but everywhere i call, they say they don't fix runflats. is that some sort of urban legend that's gotten a hold of the entire industry? because the michelin site does say it's fixable.

I'm pretty sure yours is a run flat. I've plugged two of mine and patched another. All without any issues. Of course, that was before we switched both MINI's to non run flats. Actually plugged one the day before we left VA for a trip to Florida. As long as the issues isn't in or near the sidewall, you should be fine with a repair.

I agree with 'devicemanager" that it a run of the mill 'energy saver' tubeless tire.
Unless there is no tread left have it fixed because it's not a run flat and urban legends are just that.
Read what 'maacodale' has posted about fixing runflats.

Hope this helps...

I bought a plug kit for my runflat that had a screw in it.

Was a ***** getting it in but it worked out just fine, and has held ever since

I think you have a non runflat from Sears
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...=20-70520951-2
$143 each.
Go take it to them to fix the flat or replace the tire.
Put air in it before you leave

It's a non runflat but wrong load rating and wrong sizes

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/BigPic...=Primacy+HP+ZP
It's a runflat, $187 each, 240 treadwear. Comes in 195/55-16 but not H speed rated

To my knowledge, if it doesn't say "RSC" on the tire somewhere, it's not a runflat...

Just go to your Michelin dealer.

I'm sure if you can take the car or the wheel to a Michelin Dealer they will probably patch the tire on the inside. If it "IS" a runflat you can just drive there. They sure are not going to tell a person on a telephone that they will patch a runflat.

You have to show up to get anything done.
