After my spring change I'm getting some occasional rubbing with the 215/45-17 Yoko ES-100s on the driver's side rear only.

I've never had to roll the fenders on a car before. Does anyone here have any suggestions on the best way to do this on a MINI?

Thanks,

discodan,
You might want to post details concerning this technique.. .Other members may think your response is a practical joke. As I understand it, the bat is placed on top of the wheel &the car moved slowly forward with the tapered profile of the bat assisting in folding the lip up . I've never tried this method of rolling the fender lip but have seen the alleged results of this method on other cars & it looked great.
Has anyone actually done this on a MINI?

The correct way to do it is to use a fender rolling tool that attaches to the wheel hub and you then roll the fender. On the mini it might be more difficult cause the shape of the fender and the Metal posts underneath that hold the palstic flare on.

From what I have seen on my Cooper S (37mm Offset wheels) is the wheel is not rubbing on the outer lip of the fender but on the inner wheel flare and the metal above it which has some odd shapes which went bent out (Rolled) could effect the mounting of the Plastic flare.

thanks for the info on the fender roller. The idea of actually trying the bat method always gave me the whim-whams. Sounds like a job best entrusted to the local body shop.

Am I missing something here? How do you roll plastic fenders? Sounds like a dremel would do a better job

It is actually hitting the metal inner fender lining, and JUST barely. I'll pull the wheels off later today if it warms up a bit and take a look at what I can do.

LOL - That MY fenderlip roller! We sell for $495.00, or rent, but the wait is about 5-6 months right now.

Another key not mensioned is that the paint also should be kept warm or it will crack on the edge your rolling. I do this with a heat gun, but a heat gun makes it very easy to burn your paint. You can leave the car out on a really sunny warm afternoon. A days worth of sun is enough to keep the paint pliable.
