What size tire should I go?
Why spend all that money unless you have "corrected" the useless OEM shocks?
Really, depends on what you are trying to do. Your amount of rubber on the road is the same, just the shape of the contact patch differs. Wider tends to lend itself to more cornering grip, but increasing issues with wet and cold. Wider will cause it to wander with road irregularities more. You said nothing about which compounds, what the use is, your priorities. You need to workout rear clearance carefully leaving some room for deflection. Then you may find your choice of tire is more important that the size. Go refine your goals and questions a bit more. You may find the answer. Any "do this exactly" is just our opinion. May be right for us, but not for you.

Should have been more specific, well this is just for daily driving no track I just happen to like the wheels only thing is they come on that size I mentioned above. I just want to know which is the right size tire for the wheels I understand your point on wider tire more grip which is good but has a tendency to wander with the road irregularities. As for the OEM shock I do find them a bit harsh but I can leave with it anyways thanks for the reply..
Edit: My question should have been what size tire best fit for the wheels 17x8+35?

i currently have 17x8 +32, and they're poking past the fender a little bit. +35 should put the rims fairly close to being flush with the fender. at stock height, i don't think your tires will be rubbing the fender (so long as you're not driving like a mad man over bumps and dips). for me, my stock set of wheels/tires came really close to touching the springs up front. your best bet is to ask the wheel/tire shop where you are getting your tires. they should have a good idea of what will work.
I ditch the idea of getting the 17x8+35 wheel size/spec due to the fact that there's not much benefit to the car other than being wide/tire more contact better handling I guess, also I'm not planning on lowering the car anytime soon so I think it will look fugly with that kind of set up. thanks for the info everyone..

17" Rims and Tires
Will,
The sponser to this category, Tirerack, has a very nice site where you can see your car with a selected rim and even select the color of your car. I was looking for rims as well and it seems the 17" they are selling are 7.5" and 7". Recommended tire size is 205/45R17. Not to say you cannot change the size but I planned to go with what they recommended.

Most important detail you left out is if you have a R53 or R56?
35et 17x8 might not work safely. I have a set of 17x8 et43, and the 17x8 is a great size unfortunately not a great street tire selection for this wheel, I bought a used set of 4/32 R6 225/40-17 Hoosiers for cheap. I was considering street tires for a long time and figured 215/40-17 would be my best bet. Likely Dunlop Star Specs cause they are much cheaper than Yokos AD08. BTW on previous R53 225/45-17 Falken RT-615 on 17x7.5 et48 did not fit. Also I do not think your offset wheels would fit R53 with the 225/40 Hoosiers, you might need to get 195/40 or 205/40 for fittment issues.
