Alex,
Any info on availability of these tires? in 215/40/16 or 205/45/16 or even 205/50/15. Or how they fit on narrow wheels?
Thanks

Garfield has run two sets of the 215/40/16 Hoosiers on his Enkei's (which are stock 16x6.5) with no problem -- He ran them last year when he won the ProSolo in H Stock (in Marshall's MC), and this year on his S locally in G Stock. He ran R3S03's.

These are the new style hoosiers... A3S04 compared to A3S03. They had one at the Hoosier booth at Nationals, but I have not found any info on price or availability.

I know about regular ones, you wrote about me for Sports Car.

Ah, I missed the "4" vs the "3". I assumed the only difference was compound, but maybe not. Excellent question. Are you playing Stump Alex?

Durable enough I've heard rumors of a softer compound in the works

Yes, they are available in plenty of sizes already. Just not the exact size for us.

I was told the 215/40 won't be available until August, but that may change. I'm running the '3's until then. Or, if a cool V710 size becomes available.

The R3S04 meets the requirements for SCCA, but has yet to be formally approved.

From the SCCA website:
TOPEKA, Kan. (Jan. 12, 2004); The Sports Car Club of America, Inc. Technical Services Department announced today that both the Hoosier A3 S04 DOT tire and the Kumho Ecsta V710 DOT tire are eligible for several classes of Solo2 competition effective immediately.

SCCA Solo Technical Manager Doug Gill said the tires are now permitted for Solo2 competition in the Stock, Street Prepared and Street Modified classes after both styles of tire met requirements outlined in Section 13.3 of the 2004 SCCA National Solo Rulebook.

The tires will be allowed for the years first Solo Tour event at the Arizona Motorsports Park in Phoenix, Jan. 24. The first 2004 ProSolo event is slated for Atlanta, Ga., at the Gwinett County Fairgrounds, Feb. 14-15
