I recently purchased a set of 17x7.5 SSR Comps. from Tire Rack. My friend suggested getting some wheel locks for my new wheels. Should I take his suggestion? Does the Tire Rack carry them? And how many of you use wheel locks?

YES YES YES It's a small investment for the rims you have paid HUNDREDS for!

I went with the set from my dealer. They are MINI/BMW brand and are a direct replacement of the existing MINI bolts.

Yes, use locks. One on each wheel. Get them from your dealer. Always remember where you put the wheel lock key and bring it with you whenever you have servicing done.

If you get a flat you need the wheel lock key to change the tire!

Yes, use them. As stated a small investment to protect a much larger investment.

Is it free from the dealer or how much do they charge?

If you hjave not figured it out by now ..... notheing is free from your dealer. I think I payed 30 buck for my set of four last year which is quite reasonable considering how much you payed for your rims & tires.

Peace Out

Mini Part Number: 36-13-0-141-577 -- $31. My dealer only carries black.

http://new.minimania.com/ carries silver (and black) -- $45.
I believe Tire Rack sells them too.

i dont use it on my cheepo winter wheelset, but yah, i definitely use it on my R90's.
its not really that much of a security imo since if you have the right tools
you can still unscrew it, but the added metal security is what counts.

if your wheels get stolen your car insurance should be able to give you a
comprehensive coverage though, as long as you keep your receipt. at least
that's how my insurance with statefarm is setup. 0 deductible.
