All Black Wheels...
#1
You know the kind of wheels that usually comes with cars that don't have a lot of options. They are all black, mostly solid. They usually come with hubcaps. I am looking for a wheel like this for my MCS. I would prefer to keep the 17" size, maybe go with a little wider width. I would like to keep the price as low as possible too. Thanks for the help in advance...

So you want some hollies/steelies as I call them, from an aftermarket company in 17in? I dont think you'll have much luck, but look at weld racing. They dont do black I think, but they do have alot of wheels that seem to be what you are looking for.
Hope that helped. Good Luck.

Look at REV wheels, Arospeed wheels & and Flick wheels.
They all..... have some black wheels in their selection.
BTW I got some guy out on LI to powdercoat my ROH wheels to solid black gloss for only $40/each
I'll have em back soon,, and let you know what they look like.
Peace,
D

I have a set of American Racing wheels on my Land Rover that were about $55 each. Perhaps they have a version that might work well for you.
Have you considered having your current wheels powdercoated black? That way you would get to keep the original alloys, have higher quality rims than steel ones, and you'd have a unique new mod.
You might find that the powdercoating is cheaper than buying a whole new set of wheels.
Anyway, it is just a thought.

If you really want steels, look into what cars have the same bolt pattern as the MINI (there are several) and see if any offer a 17" wheel. For example, the Civic has the same bolt pattern, but I think the largest steel wheel they offered was 14". I know Tire Rack has steel options for people wanting snow tires.
I doubt you will be able to find 17's, but might be able to find 16's.

CooperSpeed don't get involved in changing bolt patterns, especially if you are interested in keeping things inexpensive. Remeber the bolt pattern on the Mini I believe 100 so look for wheels with that same spec.
Also, if you want to keep costs down, forget about powder coating. By the time you have the current finish bead blasted ($50+ each wheel), powder coating ($50+ each wheel) and than clear coated ($50+ each wheel) cheap is not a word in that dictionary. Good luck I do love that wheel you displayed hope you can get them mounted, should look pretty cool.
