Here is the scenario, me an old fart living like a kid again, purchases a 2008 MCS Convertible Chili Pepper Red. It has 16" tires and rims,I want a better looking set, that is somewhat reasonable, but stylish .What suggestions do we have?

Moved you out of the marketplace to the general wheels and tires forum.
Also try www.tirerack.com They have a feature that will let you see kind-of what their wheels look like on a MINI.
Good luck.

What part of the country do you live in? Does the car get driven in the snow? How are the roads? Lots of pot holes?
Are you replacing tires and going to a larger diameter such as 17"? Or are you keeping the tires and going with a wider 16" wheel?
Definitely check out Tire Rack's web site. Also look at edgeracing.
PenelopeG3, I live in Florida, no snow, Have a 2008 MCS Convertible with 16" wheels and Roads are fair, mostly interstate driving for to go to Tampa 3X a week Stock wheels are fine if I can locate some 17" 5 Spoke Bullet wheels used, not sure about the size of tire for my mini. Don't need Racing types!. Bill

If you have patience, I'm sure you can find a set of those here or on ebay. I tend to prefer the classic style wheels also. A nice 5 or 6 spoke looks great.

To answer your question, "bump" is used by a poster to get back to the top of the list. That is to call attention to an older post that has not had any recent activity.
In other words you would just add a new post with the word "bump" to your original thread and that's what gets it back to the top, think new posts, in the respective forum and back on the top of the list of recent posts.
As far as "scarfing up" some wheels and tires I believe, don't quote me, you can subscribe to a particular forum and get automatic updates.
Hope this helps...
