New Goodyear 17" all season awesome

I just picked up my car from the tire store.
The run flats had the second flat and this time the inside of the run flat had cracks and they would not patch the nail hole.
I only had 22,000 on the run flats and hated to replace them two of the tires had 7/16, or 7/32 (I'm now sure how they measure) of tread left.
The past reviews on this site told me the run flats had a poor ride.

My wife just drove the mcs whith the new tires and she said she does not care what it cost, it was a good deal.
The ride is much improved.

Thanks for the comments on this site, they are on the money.

Glad you like them. Getting rid of the runflats typically makes people satisfied. Goodyear makes many different all season tires. Which kind did you get?

F1 All season

I bought the F1 all season.
I now have two good run flats if anyone needs them.
The dealer wanted to give me $30 a piece.
I kept them if anyone wants them for the same price. I am in Austin, TX.
The tires really look great.

Yeah, I agree, F1 All Seasons are fantastic tires.... expensive but worth it IMHO. I would run the year-round, but I need to wear out my (less good) summer tires first...

I purchased a set of 4 Eagle F1 All Seasons last summer from Tire Rack to replace my run-flats. I was very happy with the way these tires handled the bad winter driving conditions we had this year.

I had the Eagle Run Flats; they came with my MINI from Oxford... Good tires but they are runflats and ride roughly. I now am on Pirelli Eufori Runflats 205/45/17s and they seem to wear more quickly. One of my coworkers said to stay away from the Pirellis because the tread just disappears too quickly. Hmmm.

Just put the F1s on my car about 2 weeks ago and I love them.

I ran my first autocross last weekend, in the rain, and I never once felt them slip. I even took home 1st in my class.

Smooth ride

Do you guys running the F1 A/S in 17" size get a smooth ride? I have run both 15" and 16" and clearly there is a correlation between ride quality and height of sidewall. I really like the way the 17" wheels look but have been hesitant to give up my smooth ride. I'd appreciate your experience with ride quality especially with the 17" F1's. Thanks.

I just bought a set of the F1 A/S tires from Alex at Tire Rack and will be putting them on this weekend. It's good to hear that they handle fairly well and ride decently. I bought them based on the reviews that indcated they were a good compromise.

Everything's relative...

I've never had anything but 17" wheels on my MINI (with sport suspension) - the ride is plenty smooth for me... but I suspect it's way different than what someone with 15's and the standard suspension would enjoy...

your MCC looks just like my MCC except I have a green roof. About a month ago, I sold the 16" 5-spokes and put on a set of s-lites with 17" Eagle F1 A/S... now that the weather is starting to warm up, I'll have a better idea what I've got on. I have noticed a much smoother ride since putting them on. a heck of a lot better in the rain. I've done some highway and the ride is much better. I bought them because they are supposed to be nice and quiet.. I'll find out when I get to put the top-down

Thanks MiniMac2005, that's great to hear--there's a set of the 17" s-lites for sale in my area. I'll give them a try with the F1's and have a much better look as well.

No problem dbsanford

I picked up my s-lites here on NAM and they were painted black... got them cheap I'll try to take a pic if I get a car wash this weekend. I've been told my MCC looks "meaner" now with the new wheels/tires I think I look more like that go-kart on 'roids
